Oops… My New CEO Saw Me in a Towel Chapter 08

Mia’s voice drifted in from the sales floor, chatting with a sales associate. She was actually shopping.

Great. The temperature dropped another ten degrees.

The minutes crawled by. And a certain someone’s hands began to wander.

I shot Harrison a warning look. He blinked back at me, all innocence, eyes practically spelling out, you’re the one

who dragged me in here.

“Harrison, don’t.”

He kissed me anyway – hard, with a sharp edge of payback. The thought of someone walking in and hearing us made my stomach drop. I kept pressing my palms against his chest, pushing.

I was two seconds away from an absolute meltdown.

Harrison murmured something into my ear – I didn’t catch a word of it, just nodded – and he finally let me go,

looking entirely too pleased with himself,

I was two seconds from tears, Harrison murmured

something into my ear – I didn’t catch a word of it, just

nodded – and he finally let me go, looking entirely too pleased with himself,

At the register, I saw what the sales associate was bagging

something extra I definitely had not picked out. Every drop of blood in my body rushed to my face.

Harrison was a menace.

Mia might still be nearby, so I turned down Harrison’s offer of lunch at the rooftop restaurant. In the car, he asked where I wanted to eat instead.

I looked at his tailored suit, his polished shoes, and smiled.

A short while later.

I dragged Harrison through the food trucks packed into the lot behind campus. Grease from a nearby taco truck

had already spotted his jacket, and I caught his mouth twitching more than once.

Harrison was the kind of man who ate clean, drank

expensive wine, and probably had a nutritionist on speed dial,

Every restaurant he’d ever taken me to had cloth napkins and a wine list.

Before we started dating, I’d never have brought him here,

Now that we were official, I figured he’d hate it. But he’d earned this.

“Come on, just one bite. It’s amazing.” I scooped up a

spoonful and held it up to his mouth – the cheap plastic spoon already buckling under a chunk of watermelon,

Harrison looked at the spoon, looked at me and leaned

down. He kissed the corner of my mouth instead.

“Mm. Delicious.”

My hand jerked. The watermelon slid off the spoon and splashed into the bowl, sending purple acai across his shirt. Harrison just smiled – soft, unhurried, like I was the only thing in the world worth looking at.

I was never eating an acai bowl again.

The campus crowd was starting to thicken, and I noticed girls stealing glances at Harrison. Money and looks – that was what made an older man dangerous. Harrison had both, plus the kind of authority that rolled off him without effort.

The private Harrison was a menace, but the public version? The one the rest of the world saw? That man was impossible not to stare at.

A flicker of regret hit me. Then I looped my arm through his- right there, in full view of every girl watching,

Harrison’s smile widened. He reached over and tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear,

“Stella?”

If Trevor hadn’t shown up, the day might’ve stayed perfect. I’d been so wrapped up in Harrison that I didn’t see him and his new girlfriend heading straight for us.

Of all the days.
