He Heard Every Thought I Had About His Body Chapter 10

He Heard Every Thought I Had About His Body Chapter 10

A few days later, I stopped Warren again

Kneeling on the bed, I looked up at him with wide eyes

I want a kiss. Come on, kiss me. I command you to kiss me

Warren’s gaze slowly dropped. I watched him swallow hard

But then he shook his head

I let go of him without changing my expression

Okay.”

Ahhh, that was so embarrassing

Did I just get rejected? Yep. I definitely got rejected

We’ve only been kissing for a few days, and he’s already over it

Men. They hit it and quit it

Warren laughed. He leaned down until we were eye level

Cora. His lazy drawl carried an amused smile

You keep getting me all worked up, then you just

leave me hanging. My body can’t take it.”

Can’t take what? Waitis it the kind of can’t take it

think it is

Whoa. I’m not looking any lower

Is this seriously my stonefaced husband? Did someone bodyswap him

I awkwardly looked away

Then I won’t start kisses anymore.”

Warren chuckled. You little scaredycat.”

I’m not

Yes, you are.”

He leaned over and brushed a light kiss against my cheek

You’re the little scaredycat. I’m the big one.”

Wouldn’t have guessed

Warren’s eyes lit up. Did she figure it out

This guy’s brutal. He’ll even roast himself

Warren’s thoughts ground to a halt. I swear, you’re hopeless

The next day, I called Tara to vent

A scaredycat? No way. You’re just a little oblivious.”

I nodded. Exactly.”

How was I a scaredycat

But it is weird that Warren called himself one

Unless”

She suddenly gasped

Huh? Tara?”

The call cut off

If I remembered correctly, she’d gone to The Lantern Lounge

That place could get pretty chaotic

Panic hit me instantly. I threw on my clothes and rushed out to find her

I had just grabbed my bag when Warren followed me

I’ll come with you.”

How does he know where I’m going? I didn’t even have

the call on speaker

Warren smoothly changed the subject

It’s not safe to drive alone at night.”

Wherever you’re going, I’ll take you.”

He called it giving me a ride

But once we got there, he walked inside with me anyway

I didn’t have time to worry about it

After searching the room, I finally spotted Tara at the corner of the bar

She was talking to someone across from her. I hurried over

Cora?Tara looked surprised

I was just about to have someone call you.”

Somebody bumped into me earlier. My phone hit the

floor and broke.”

I’m glad you’re okay.”

I didn’t have your number memorized, so I finally found someone who knew youbut I still couldn’t

reach you.”

I followed her gaze

Cole was looking at me with the most pitiful

expression, like a neglected puppy

Why’d you block me?”

This guy just won’t go away

What are you doing here?”

The day I learned that you were married, it felt like

something inside me died. I figured I’d drink away the

pain.”

Tara knew I didn’t want to see him

She hurried to explain. I actually owe him one today.”

The supplier for our new equipment was giving me

hard time. I almost lost the deal.”

Did someone give you trouble?”

My tone was flatmore routine politeness than real concern

Even so, Tara immediately scooted closer to me

No way

I’m one of the owners here. Who’s going to bully me?”

The supplier was the problem.”

I came to sort it out, and it just so happened that Cole

knew the person in charge and introduced us

She’s telling the truth.Cole chimed in, nodding quickly

The two of them took turns reassuring me until

finally accepted the explanation

Cole let out a relieved breath

I was seriously worried you’d do what you did back in high school.”

If I hadn’t stopped you, you would’ve beaten that guy to death.”

Tara snorted. Good thing Cora was smart enough to throw a sack over his head first.”

I even picked an alley with no security cameras. That

idiot still has no idea it was me

I took a sip of my drink

Beside me, Warren frowned

What sack? What alley?”

Tara blinked. Who said anything about an alley?”

Cole lifted a brow in mock surprise

Warrenyou didn’t know?”

That day Cora didn’t go home with you this was why.”

Teenage boys often disguised their curiosity about

girls as crude sexual jokes

If a girl didn’t play along, they’d get nasty and start spreading rumors. Even in front of a crowd

Tara got into a heated argument with one of them

The boy lashed out and kicked her

I had just returned to the classroom. I saw the whole thing

I didn’t make a scene. I just took Tara to the teacher

That afternoon, the boy was forced to apologize to her

in front of the entire class

Everyone thought the matter was over

It wasn’t. The very next day, he called in sick

After school, I dragged him into an alley and beat the hell out of him

I’d been training in boxing for years
