He Flaunted His Mistress, Now He’s Going Mad Begging After Chapter 08
A seaside apartment thousands of miles away.
I stood before the floor–to–ceiling window, watching the rolling waves in the distance.
The man beside me handed me a glass of water.
“Your plan was right. After dumping the stocks at low prices, things really did shake up.”
“You really are the famous financial expert everyone says you are.”
I smiled softly, looking at this former rival. “Weren’t
we supposed to be enemies? Why did you save me?”
“Who told you we were enemies? I just couldn’t stand watching you take all that crap from him…”
“But that’s all in the past now-
Tristan’s voice was gentle yet firm. “I know you’re not
willing to give up, and I know what you’re capable of. My company has always been missing a vice president who can handle things–not someone who cleans up other people’s messes, but a partner who can lead the feam to expand and conquer new territory.”
took the glass, the warmth from my fingertips spreading through the cup into my heart.

I remembered being cyberbullied, tattooed, locked in the banquet hall, while Henry left with Briar without looking back.
And the man before me now looked at me with eyes full of appreciation and recognition.
“I know what you’re capable of, and I’m willing to let you climb up using me as your stepping stone.”
Okay.” I lifted my head, a long–lost brightness in my eyes. “I’m in. Tomorrow, come with me to get these
tattoos removed.”
The next day, Tristan took me to the hospital.
The laser hit my skin with sharp, burning pain, but it
was enough to keep me clear–headed.
Lopened my eyes and watched as those humiliating
tattoos were gradually fading, disappearing.
Just like the dignity Henry had crushed, slowly being pieced back together.
Finally, three months later, the last treatment session ended.
My skin had returned to its former smooth and delicate state.
The last trace Henry had left in my life had completely vanished.
