Alpha No longer Pretends Chapter 06

He hurried home by car

I went to the room to find Emily at the first time, but she was nowhere to be seen at home

It was not until he searched the whole villa that he was finally sure that the person had left

Only a matebond dissolution letter remained on the table

Mason stared blankly. The pain in his hand flared up again

Along with a strange ache in his chest

He refused to believe the golddigging girl would leave him so easily

But then it hit him

Emily had only wanted money for her mother’s treatment. Now that her mother was gone, money didn’t matter anymore. Neither

did the bond

Mason’s palms sweated. He panicked and stood up, calling Emily

But no one answered

His mind flashed to Harper. Hope flooded him

As long as he had the daughter, Emily would come home

But the next second, he froze. He had no idea where Harper was

A dark look crossed Mason’s eyes. He suddenly laughed

Then he called the police

When Ivy Johnson heard Mason had called the police, she was

overjoyed. She thought he’d finally come to his senses

But when I arrived at the police station, Mason changed his tune and refused to press charges

Ivy was furious. She lunged at me, grabbed my collar, and raised her hand to hit me

The next second, Mason caught her wrist and threw her aside

He put his arm around me and walked out

Alpha! That beast killed our baby! How can you be so unfair?!”

Even if I knocked her mother’s ashes over on purpose, how can a dead person compare to a living one?!

And none of this is even my fault! You gave me the power to act

like this! How can you blame me for everything-

Shut up!”

Mason’s forehead tensed. He turned and cut her off

He looked her over and suddenly sneered

Didn’t I pay you enough? That’s all you’re worth. Don’t get greedy.”

I never planned to marry you, not for a second. Even if that baby

had been born, I would’ve kept the child and sent you away

Understand now?”

He’d once felt a little pity for her. But she’d gotten pregnant on

purpose to force him, given his daughter sleeping pillsand he’d endured it

Yet she still kept bullying Emily Brown

Now he was losing his bond. He’d done enough for her

With that, he ignored the pale Ivy, grabbed my wrist, and pulled me into the car

I stared out the window, silent

Over the past two days, I’d buried Mother in a cemetery

I’d thought keeping her close would comfort me. But it had been selfish. She’d suffered for so many years. She deserved

peace

Emily, come back. I won’t bring other women home again.”

Mason’s voice was tight, almost pleadingbut it still sounded disgusting

He didn’t say he’d stop cheating. He didn’t apologize sincerely

He just said he wouldn’t bring mistresses home anymore

I laugheda cold, mocking laugh

Mason’s grip on the steering wheel tightened. Pain crossed his face

Tell me what you want! It happened. Can’t we face it?”

Dissolve the mate bond.”

I spoke softly, with nothing more to say

Mason shook his head. He looked at me pityingly

Where will you go without me? You have no job, no parents. You

want to take Harper, but what can you give her?”

His words were cruel and honest. He was trying to break me

But I’d already made up my mind. I’d planned to let Harper stay with him at first

But after what Ivy did, I didn’t dare. I couldn’t even be sure Harper would survive to grow up

I already found a job. If you really care about our daughter, give more child support.”

Do you really have to be this difficult?”

Mason slammed his fist on the wheel and slammed on the brakes by the side of the road
