Alpha No longer Pretends Chapter 03
I lunged out. My wolf pinned Ivy Johnson to the floor.
I grabbed her by the throat crazily and shouted. “What did you do to my daughter?!”
Ivy’s face turned red. Her bulging eyes held malice.
“Little beast… wouldn’t listen. Just gave her some sleeping pills…”
My eyes were dark, and my ears were like the hiss of an evil ghost.
The force of his men increased infinitely, and Ivy Johnson’s screams gradually weakened.
Suddenly, a strong force knocked me over from behind.
Mason panicked and held Ivy, roaring at me in anger.
“Are you insane? You almost killed her!”
I pushed myself up, tears pouring from my eyes. I screamed in breakdown.
“She deserves to die! She gave Harper sleeping pills! She tried to kill her!”
Mason froze. Panic flashed in his eyes. He immediately turned to check on Harper.
Ivy grabbed his sleeve and sobbed.
“I only gave a tiny amount, and I asked a doctor first! It’s completely
fine! Sister’s just using this to hurt me!”
She looked at me, fear still in her eyes from nearly dying.
“If you hate me so much. Sister, I’ll leave. But I don’t deserve to die!”
With that, she coughed violently, trembling like a fragile butterfly in the wind.
Mason stared at the bruises on her neck with heartache. After a few seconds, he said coldly to me.
“Apologize to her.”
I stared at him in disbelief. Sharp pain nearly tore my body apart.
“She’s your daughter! Is she worth less than your mistress?!”
Mason looked away, refusing to meet my swollen eyes.
His voice was cold. “All I know is you almost killed someone. Now apologize.”
Dizziness washed over me. I walked to the nursery, picked up my baby, and walked out.
Mason didn’t stop me, but his face turned darker and darker.
“Emily Brown, don’t you dare come back if you leave!”
His mocking tone was like chasing away a stray dog.
But I didn’t care. I just needed my daughter to be safe.
When we reached the hospital, Harper was checked and cleared. But
the doctor still looked unhappy.
“How could you give sleeping pills to an infant? You’re far too careless as a mother!*
The doctor’s scolding hit me hard. I hung my head in shame and pain.
That night. I didn’t go back to the mansion with Harper.
I never would. I couldn’t leave her in that hell.
The next day, I went back alone.
Mason didn’t show the slightest worry for his daughter. Instead, he
was hosting friends to celebrate Ivy Johnson’s birthday.
I didn’t glance at them. I just grabbed my luggage and began
packing my documents and clothes.
A hand suddenly grabbed my wrist. Mason glared at me.
“Emily Brown, what are you causing a fuss about this early? Where’s the baby?!”
I pulled my arm away and said coldly. “I’m never giving her back to you.”
Before he could explode, I said directly. “Mason Ashford, I want to
dissolve our mate bond.”
