Alpha No longer Pretends Chapter 02

Alpha No longer Pretends Chapter 02

Perhaps there really was a motherchild bond. Suddenly, the baby

started crying for no reason

No matter what I did, she wailed loudly

Footsteps tapped quickly down the stairs

Ivy Johnson wrapped in my bathrobe, looked at me with a hurt expression

Can’t you stand to see me happy, sister? You’re making the baby

cry on purpose to disturb us. I can take it, but she’s your own

daughterhow can you be so cruel?

My body went stiff. Humiliation from being misunderstood flooded over me

I’d carried her for ten months and nearly died from blood loss giving birth

No one loved her more than I did

I ignored Ivy’s unreasonable words and turned away with our daughter

But she lunged forward and tried to snatch the baby from my arms

You don’t deserve to be a mother!”

Her movements were rough. The baby cried even harder. My heart

clenched, as if I couldn’t breathe

My mind went blank. I raised my hand and shoved Ivy hard. She

screamed and fell to the floor

Emily Brown! What are you doing? Ivy’s pregnant!”

Mason stormed down in a rage, stepping in front of the whimpering Ivy Johnson

Ivy bit her lip and looked up at him with tearful eyes

Alpha, the baby wouldn’t stop crying. I tried to help Sister, but she

hit me right away. I don’t know what I did wrongMaybe

everything I do is wrong”

Ivy cried miserably. Mason didn’t listen to me at all. He stepped

forward coldly and tried to take the baby

My heart ached. I begged quietly

Don’t hurt her. I’ll give her to you.”

Amid the baby’s hoarse, pitiful cries, Mason tossed me some money coldly

Go buy a cake. Apologize to Ivy.”

The baby’s little hands struggled and reached toward me, as if begging me to save her

Mason ignored my red eyes and snapped. Move!”

Ivy held the baby and smiled at me triumphantly

Hurry back, Sister. I’ll take good care of the baby for you.”

My daughter’s helpless cries stabbed at my temples like a knife.

glanced at her, my heart bleeding

I bit the tip of my tongue until I tasted blood, then turned and

rushed out, my head spinning

I drove as fast as I could to the bakery and bought a cake

Within half an hour, I stumbled back, gasping for breath

The second I pushed the door open, the room was deadly quiet. My heart sank

I staggered into the nursery

Ivy was walking out. When she saw me, her face flickered with guilt

But she quickly smiled and took the cake from my hand

She looked up and called Mason

Alpha, come down for cake!”

I looked down at my daughter. She was sleeping peacefully. I sighed in relief

But soon, I noticed something was wrong. Harper’s face was bright

red. She looked uncomfortable but wouldn’t move

I panicked. I whispered her name and gently shook her, but she didn’t respond

Despair wrapped around me like a tight, tangled net

Harper!”

My bloodshot scream filled the mansion
