Top Digger’s Counterattack Chapter 09
Kyler stared at Scarlett and demanded, “Scarlett, what else do you have to say?”
Scarlett stood next to Damien, showing no sign of panic.
“Kyler, are you sure that account you found is really Mine?” she asked calmly.
Kyler slapped a bank statement down on the table.
He snapped, “Your name and ID are right here. Do you still want to deny it?”
Scarlett glanced at the bank statement and couldn’t help but chuckle.
She sneered, “Nice try, Kyler, but your forgery skills could really use some work.”
Kyler’s face darkened as he shot back, “That’s
bullshit!”
Damien pressed the intercom on the table and
ordered, “Let the security come up.”
After a while, a few security guards walked into the office, escorting someone.
It was Jax. Kyler was stunned.
“Jax? Why are you here?” Kyler blurted out.
Jax walked up to Scarlett and handed her a USB drive.
“Scarlett, this is the USB drive that Kyler gave me,” he
said.
There was an uproar.
Elara’s eyes went wide as she demanded, “Kyler, what the hell is going on?”
Kyler pointed at Jax and shouted, “You betrayed Me!”
Jax just shrugged and replied, “Kyler, anyone with a brain knows to pick the winning side.
“Scarlett’s offer is way better than yours.”
Then Scarlett plugged the USB drive into the Computer.
The contents were projected onto the wall for everyone to see.
They were not only the Cole Group’s core secrets, but also surveillance video of Kyler and Jax Meeting at the club.
In the footage, Kyler himself said his plan to frame Scarlett.
The truth came out. The shareholders started buzzing with gossip.
“I didn’t expect Kyler to sell out the company for a woman,” one of them whispered.
“How could someone like him be the heir?” another
scoffed.
Elara was so furious that she was trembling.
She slapped Kyler across the face and snapped, “You bastard!”
Kyler held his face in pain and looked at Scarlett in disbelief.
“You set me up from the beginning?” he stammered.
Scarlett walked over to him and towered over him, her eyes full of disdain.
She said, “Kyler, I told you, I’m a bad woman.
“You were just too stupid. You brought this on yourself.”
Kyler crumpled to the floor, utterly defeated.
He knew he was doomed.
Damien stood up and announced, “Every shareholder, Kyler is suspected of betraying the company and selling out our secrets.
“I propose we remove him from all his positions and turn him over to the authorities.”
Hands shot up all around the room as the shareholders voted in favor.
Elara slumped onto the couch and burst into loud, heart–wrenching sobs.
The security guard moved in and hauled Kyler away.
When Kyler was dragged past Scarlett, he fixed her with a Murderous glare.
He yelled, “Scarlett, even if I die, I’ll haunt you to the end!”
Scarlett smiled and said calmly, “I’ll wait.”
Kyler was thrown behind bars, and Elara couldn’t handle the blow and ended up in the hospital.
The Cole Group was firmly in Damien’s hands.
Scarlett sat in Damien’s office, enjoy the scenery outside.
Live Comments floated across her screen.
[The finale. Congratulations!]
[Scarlett is amazing.]
[Not only did she get revenge, but she also gained love and a career.]
Damien slipped up behind her and pulled her into his Grms.
He asked, “What are you watching?”
Scarlett leaned back into his arms and replied softly. “Just enjoying the view.”
Damien took out a red velvet box and opened it.
Inside was a pigeon egg–sized diamond ring.
“Scarlett, Marry Me,” he said, his voice full of emotion.
Scarlett gazed at the diamond ring and smiled softly.
“Damien, are you proposing to Me?” she teased.
Damien nodded and replied, “Yeah.”
Scarlett pushed the box back toward him and said,
“Sorry, I can’t say yes.”
Damien froze, completely caught off guard.
“Why?” he stammered.
Scarlett turned around and locked eyes with Damien.
She asked, “Damien, do you really love me?”
Damien frowned, a trace of confusion crossing his face.
“Of course,” he replied, his voice sincere.
Scarlett shook her head and said, “No, you don’t love Me.
“You just think I’m smart and interesting, and can help you deal with Kyler.
“Now that you’ve got what you wanted, the Cole Group is yours.
“I’m no longer of any use to you.”
Damien grabbed Scarlett’s shoulders and said, “Scarlett, don’t talk like that. I love you.”
Scarlett pushed his hands away and said, “Damien, we’re both seasoned players here, so stop pretending.
“I helped you take over the Cole Group. You give me four million dollars. We’re even now.”
Scarlett walked over to the table and picked up her bag.
Damien stepped in front of her, blocking her way. He asked, “Where are you going?”
Scarlett looked up at him and replied, “I’m going to where I’m meant to go.”
Damien’s eyes darkened, his gaze turning icy and Menacing.
“You really think you can walk away from me?” he said coldly.
Scarlett laughed. “Damien, have you forgotten what I
do?” she teased.
She added, “I’m a top–tier gold digger. When I’ve cashed in, of course, I have to run away.”
Scarlett slipped past Damien and strode out of the office.
Damien stood there, rooted to the spot.
He watched Scarlett’s back as his fists were clenched
so tightly his knuckles turned white.
Scarlett walked out of the Cole Group building.
The sunlight was almost blinding.
She took a deep breath, letting the fresh air fill her lungs.
She took out her phone and dialed an overseas
number.
She said, “Hello, about that new project you Mentioned, I’ve made up my mind.
“I’M catching the next flight.”
Then she hung up.
Scarlett flagged down a taxi and said to the driver, “Go to the airport, please.”
The taxi drove into the busy city traffic.
Scarlett looked out the window, watching the city rush past.
The live chat was blowing up.
[Holy shit! That was an insane plot twist.]
(Scarlett just kicked Damien away.)
(She’s slaying solo and killing it in her career. So badass!]
[Now that’s a real top–tier gold digger. She only cares about the cash, not the man.]
Scarlett leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. A satisfied smile played at the corners of her lips.
Love was nothing. Money was the only thing that Mattered.
Next stop, Eronter Street.
