The Real Mafia Heiress Chapter 06
Torres’s words hit Lilith like a punch to the gut.
Her face went completely ashen, and she shrieked at the top of her lungs. “A housekeeper? What absolute garbage are you spouting?”
“There’s no way my mom’s just a maid! She’s the
matriarch of the Moretti Group, the richest female Don
in this entire city! I, Lilith Bennett, am the mafia family’s heir!”
Torres let out a cold, bitter laugh. “Foolish girl.”
He turned to the security guards behind him and
issued crisp orders. “Secure the premises. Photograph every damaged item as evidence.”
“Detain every person present–no one leaves this villa. They laid hands on Miss Moretti. Every single one of
them will face consequences today.”
“Yes, Mr. Torres!” the guards chorused in unison.
They immediately advanced to corral Lilith and the classmates.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Lilith stumbled
backward, screaming in panic. “I’m warning you, stay back! My mom is Mrs. Bennett, head of the Moretti Group! If you lay a single finger on me, she’ll destroy
every last one of you!”
The classmates panicked and echoed her threats.
“Yeah, Lilith’s Mrs. Bennett’s only daughter! Crossing Lilith means crossing Mrs. Bennett herself!”
“Mrs. Bennett is the powerful female Don of Moretti Group, worth billions. You fake actors better know
your place!”
“Get out of here while you still can—once Aunt
Bennett arrives, you won’t stand a chance to run!”
“Lilith, call your mom right now! Have her bring her men over! Let’s see how cocky these pretend tough
guys stay then!”
It clicked for Lilith. Frantic, she fumbled her phone out
of her purse and dialed Mrs. Bennett’s number.
The line rang several times before connecting, and she
yelled straight into the receiver. “Mom, get to the countryside villa right now!”
“There’s a bunch of people causing trouble here!
They’re trying to lock all of us inside and won’t let us leave! Bring your crew over immediately!”
A clearly frantic voice crackled through the phone line. “Lilith, what’s happening? Explain it to me clearly!”
Lilith ranted without pause. “It’s that leech bitch who’s always crashing at our house! She showed up out of nowhere and hired a bunch of actors to put on a fake performance.”
“They’re claiming she’s Miss Moretti and that you’re just her housekeeper! Mom, hurry over–I’m terrified!”
Silence hung heavy on the other end of the line for a long moment.
Lilith stamped her foot in agitation. “Mom? Can you hear me? Why aren’t you saying anything?
When are you gonna get here?”
Mrs. Bennett swallowed hard, her tone shaky and desperate. “Lilith, I’m on my way right now. Don’t pick fights with them until I arrive. We’ll sort this out when I get there.”
“Fine, I’ll wait for you!” Lilith hung up and spun back
toward me and Torres, hatred blazing in her eyes.
“Just you wait. My mom’s on her way, and you’ll all regret crossing her when she gets here.”
I pulled out a relatively clean chair and sat down, saying nothing.
Torres knelt beside me, his tone gentle. “Miss Moretti,
would you like us to tend to your wounds first?”
I shook my head. “We’ll wait until Mrs, Bennett arrives.”
Lilith let out a mocking scoff. “Keep up the fake act.
Let’s see how long you can pretend once my mother
walks through that door.”
Reassured that Mrs. Bennett was indeed coming, the
students regained their bravado and started jeering again.
“Lilith, once Aunt Bennett gets here, make sure she puts these overconfident losers in their place!”
“Exactly! They trespassed on the villa she bought you
and tried to intimidate us with empty threats. They’re
basically begging for trouble on Moretti territory.”
“When Aunt Bennett shows up, she’ll show you all how
a real mafia family handles problems.”
“On top of that, make her see Sophia’s true colors so she stops feeling sorry enough to shelter her.”
“Hell yeah! After today, Sophia’ll be out on the streets
with nowhere to go. I’d love to watch how she survives
without your mom’s charity!”
Lilith ground her teeth, glaring daggers at me. “Don’t
worry. No matter how much Sophia cries, begs, or
threatens, I’ll make sure Mom never lets her stay with us again.”
“Not only that I’ll have Mom deal harshly with every single one of you.”
Torres huffed a dry laugh. “Deal with us? With Mrs.
Bennett? A lowly housekeeper has no authority to do anything of the sort.”
Lilith flew into a rage instantly. “Quit spreading these
lies! My mother is no housekeeper!”
“She lives in a city villa worth hundreds of millions, runs the largest branch of the Moretti Group
statewide, and bought this priceless countryside villa for me on a whim. Someone that powerful could never just be a maid!”
“I know this is all Sophia’s scheme–she hired you
actors to slander my mom, drive a wedge between us,
and steal my spot as the real heir once we’re torn apart!”
Torres looked at her like she’d just told the most laughable story imaginable, his face twisted with unbridled contempt. “You are irredeemably ignorant.”
“This countryside villa is the private family estate where Miss Moretti’s parents lived their entire lives.
The multi–million–dollar city villa you claim your
mother owns was purchased outright by Miss Moretti the day she came of age.”
“As for the Moretti Group–it was founded and built
from the ground up by Don and Donna Moretti. Miss
Moretti is the true mafia heiress.”
“No–she has inherited everything her parents left
behind. She is the undisputed head of the Moretti family now.”
“Mrs. Bennett? She is nothing more than a live–in housekeeper employed by Miss Moretti.”
Lilith shot back without a single second of hesitation.
“That’s total bullshit! If all this stuff belongs to that
bitch, why does she crash at our house every weekend?”
I almost laughed at her staggering lack of logic. “Are you incapable of basic comprehension? That villa is mine. How is living in my own home ‘mooching‘?”
“You were only allowed to stay in my main residence because I took pity on your mother’s years of service to my family and chose not to make an issue of it.”
“As for why she lied to you about being the estate’s owner and let you occupy my parents‘ countryside villa
you’d better ask her yourself.”
Lilith refused to believe a word of it. “You two are just
tag–teaming to mess with my head!”
“I know exactly what you’re doing–you’re scared you’ll lose to me once my mom arrives, so you’re spouting nonsense to turn me against her before she walks in the door.”
“You’re just jealous I was born into the Moretti
family’s fortune, so you hired these men to lie to me and steal my birthright!”
The classmates chimed in in full agreement.
“Exactly! You’re jealous Lilith has a wealthy mother,
so you paid these guys to stage this whole scene and ruin their mother–daughter bond. We’re not falling for such a cheap trick!”
“Once Mrs. Bennett gets here, you’ll see how ridiculous all this posturing looks.”
The second the last word left someone’s lips, the sound of rapid footsteps echoed from outside.
Mrs. Bennett had arrived.
