The Real Mafia Heiress Chapter 05
The sudden convoy of black luxury vehicles stunned everyone in the room.
Lilith and the group of classmates froze
mid–movement, all craning their necks toward the gate.
Beneath their collective stares, every car door swung open in unison.
Tall, sharp–suited men filed out one after another,
their faces hard and unyielding, eyes scanning the perimeter like trained predators as they strode toward the villa’s entrance.
At their lead stood a man in a perfectly tailored charcoal gray suit with thin gold–rimmed glasses.
He carried a calm, unshakable aura that pressed heavy
on everyone present–Torres, the Moretti family’s chief legal counsel and my father’s most trusted consigliere.
For years, he’d stood beside me managing the Moretti
Group and all family operations.
Behind him marched more than two dozen family legal
staff, alongside a detail of elite family guards. Each
man clutched document satchels, body cameras, and asset inventory equipment.
Their imposing presence instantly sealed off the entire villa entrance, leaving nowhere to slip away.
The students stared, jaws hanging open, murmuring in shock.
“What the hell is going on?”
“Why are there so many people out here all of a sudden?”
“Duh, obviously Mrs. Bennett sent them over for Lilith.”
“Her mom’s loaded, right? She must’ve arranged a fancy welcome crew since Lilith brought her friends to the villa party today.”
“Makes sense.‘
“So these guys are here to hype Lilith up and greet us?”
After working themselves into this conclusion, the
students grew giddy, their expressions bloated with misplaced superiority.
Lilith’s eyes lit up. She instantly let She instantly let go of the fistful of
my hair, smoothed her rumpled clothes, and stepped forward with the air of the estate’s rightful hostess, facing Torres and his team, brimming with smug anticipation.
“Excuse me did my mom send all of you?”
Torres ignored Lilith entirely. His gaze swept the
wrecked living room, and when his eyes landed on me
crumpled on the floor, blood seeping from my split lip,
hair tangled and matted, his expression darkened instantly.
He strode over, knelt down, and gently helped me to
my feet. “Miss Moretti, are you unharmed?”
His voice was quiet, yet steeped in unwavering, formal deference.
The crowd’s earlier excitement shattered on the spot.
Every person stood frozen, dumbfounded.
Lilith blinked once, then burst out cackling like she’d
just heard the most ridiculous joke imaginable. “Miss Moretti? Hahaha–did you all hear that? He’s calling
this deadbeat leech Miss Moretti?”
She jabbed a finger straight at me, laughing so hard
she doubled over. “This penniless bottom–feeder who
mooches off other people’s homes doesn’t get to carry
the Moretti name!”
The classmates quickly joined in the jeering.
“You guys must have mixed up the person! She’s just a
parasite living off Lilith’s family.”
“Camped out at their villa nonstop, obsessed with
latching onto a mafia family for status.”
“Exactly–someone like her has zero connection to
the Morettis.”
“You’d better get your facts straight before this
conniving bitch fools you all.”
Torres’s brows furrowed, and he cut through the
raucous noise with a sharp, icy command. “Silence.”
His tone was soft, yet razor–sharp, slicing every
murmur in the room dead.
Amid the stunned hush, he enunciated each word slow
and clear for all to hear. “The woman standing before
you is the active head of the Moretti Group, the sole
legal heir to the Moretti bloodline–Miss Sophia Moretti.”
A suffocating silence fell over the villa. Then the room
erupted into louder, mocking laughter.
“Hahaha, that’s getting more absurd by the second!”
“If she runs the Moretti Group, then who is Lilith’s mother?”
“Fr, she can’t even afford her own place—how’s she tied to a mafia empire?”
“Does she really think crashing at someone’s house a
few times makes her an heir?”
“Lilith’s own mom is the matriarch of Moretti Group,
and even she’d never claim something that wild.”
“This broke stray’s a freeloader, she’s not worthy of
that title at all!”
“You all looked polished and professional walking in, I
thought you were important executives. Now it’s obvious–you’re just paid actors, right?”
“Sophia’s jealous she’ll never measure up to Lilith, so she threw cash at you guys to pretend you’re big shots and prop her up!”
“Trying to fake clout, huh? Too bad we’re her
classmates, we know every last detail about her sad little life.”
“Your cheap stunt won’t fool any of us! C’mon, how
much did Sophia pay you to put on this show? I’ll
double it. How about you let me play the Moretti heiress for a bit instead?”
Lilith shot Torres a scathing, sneering glare. “Even if you’re gonna put on a fake act, at least make it halfway believable.”
“You picked the wrong family to lie about—you’re claiming she’s the boss instead of my mom? Don’t you
know I’m Mrs. Bennett’s daughter, the lady who runs the Moretti Group?”
Torres’s expression turned to ice. “Mrs. Bennett?”
A flicker of disdain finally seeped into his voice. “She’s merely Miss Moretti’s live–in housekeeper.”
