The Radio Secret – My Sister In Love with My Fiance Chapter 10

The Radio Secret – My Sister In Love with My Fiance Chapter 10

Rosie, you’re awake. Don’t move yetyou suffered mild concussion.”

Nathan was in the chair beside my cot. When I opened my eyes, his shoulders droppedthe only sign he’d been holding his breath

It took me several foggy seconds to register my surroundings. Someone got hurt, didn’t they? Who’s injured?”

Nathan’s expression turned heavy with sorrow, and he hesitated long before answering. It’s Logan. He threw himself on top of you to shield you from the blastthey had to amputate his right leg.”

My body stayed still. The words landed, but meaning hadn’t caught up yet. I remembered the body that tackled me to the ground, remembered the warm blood soaking into my uniform

Nathan wheeled me over to Logan’s recovery tent. His amputation surgery was complete, the right pant leg of his hospital gown empty and folded flat

Rosie. Thank god you weren’t hurt.Logan forced weak smile toward me. I lost a leg. But you’re breathing. That’s all that matters to me right now.”

A month later, Logan’s parents arrived to escort him back home. He pulled me aside to say goodbye before they left

Rosie, meeting you was the greatest joy of my entire

life. But I can only walk alongside you this far. Live well. Not for me. Justlive.”

When you see Calista, pass along my apology. I’m so sorry I hurt both of you sisters irreparably.”

One month after that, our original Doctors Without Borders medical team flew back home

As the plane landed, I spotted Calista waiting for me at arrivals, clutching a full bouquet of red roses

She saw me and rannot gracefully, but with the clumsy urgency of someone who’d been holding their breath for years. Her arms locked around mine before she could speak

With the demolition compensation money I’d left her, she’d bought a twobedroom townhouse

I graduated college and have a steady job now. We own this place together. Not foreverjust as long as we both choose to stay

She never brought up Logan, and I never mentioned him either

Three years later, Calista got married. At her wedding reception, she tossed her bridal bouquet straight into my waiting arms, yelling loud enough for everyone to hear: Rosie, you deserve all the happiness in the world!”

I smiled down at the flowers clutched to my chest

Beside me, Nathan laughed and pulled a second bouquet of red roses from behind his back. He dropped to one knee, opening a velvet ring box

Dr. Keith, will you spend the rest of your life with me?”

His gaze stayed steadyno grandeur, just quiet certainty

I’m covered in sharp thorns, you know. Aren’t you afraid you’ll get pricked?”

Nathan smiled calmly and honestly. I don’t mind, as long as those thorns only ever cut me for the rest of our lives.”

I accepted the roses and held out my left hand. The ring slid perfectly onto my ring finger, neither too loose nor too tight

Rosie, I love you.”

I no longer feared opening my heart to new love, nor the pain of anyone walking in or out of my life

I am not a rose to be handled safely. I am simply myself -thorns included, apology withheld
