The Divorce He Refused to Sign Chapter 05
Isabella froze, staring at me in shock.
“You crazy bitch! You hit me?!”
I slapped her again. Her lip split open.
She tried to fight back, but I shoved her to the floor
and kept hitting her.
Screams echoed down the hallway.
Julian and Marco burst in and pulled us apart.
Julian twisted my arms behind my back, pinning me.
“Rory, have you lost your mind?! You want to kill
Marco’s kid?!”
I screamed through my raw throat.
“Yeah. Just like you killed mine!”
All three of them went pale.
Julian and Marco exchanged a glance, silently
confirming that neither of them had revealed the
secret.
Isabella clutched her face, playing the victim.
“She’s gone insane. She said she’s getting revenge for the baby.”
“Marco… she needs help. Send her to a psych ward.”
I looked at their faces, and nausea rose in my throat.
These pieces of shit.
“Fine. I’m crazy. Guess I can kill all of you and not even go to prison,” I said coldly.
Julian had never seen me like this. His brow furrowed.
In his mind, I was always calm. Always rational.
Even years ago when I caught him with Isabella, I
handled it quietly. No fights. No violence.
He dragged me down the hallway and shoved me into
the car.
“Rory, calm down. Do you really have to make a scene in public?”
“What the hell is wrong with you?”
I slapped him across the face.
“You’re the one making a scene. I know the baby
isn’t Marco’s. I know you’ve never stopped fucking
Isabella.”
“I actually believed you’d changed. You make me
sick.”
Julian froze. “No, Rory…”
I shoved the divorce papers into his chest.
“Sign them. We’re done.”
Panic flashed in his eyes. He quickly crumpled the
papers and threw them out the window.
“No, Rory, listen to me. It’s not what you think. It was a mistake. Isabella and I–we broke up.”
“Ask Marco. If she was mine, would he have married
her? No man would take that.”
It sounded convincing. Sincere even.
But I didn’t believe a single word.
“Cut the bullshit, Julian. You’re still not going to tell
the truth? I know about your burner phone. It’s in the
closet. I saw everything.”
For the first time, he was speechless. His entire body
trembled.
After a long moment, his voice came out low.
“So that’s why you want the divorce.”
I let out a cold laugh.
“City hall’s still open. Let’s go.”
His face collapsed. Tears welled up.
“No. I won’t sign. You can’t leave me.”
“If you try to leave, I’ll kill myself.”
Same old trick.
When I first caught him with Isabella, he slashed his
wrists so I wouldn’t walk out.
Back then, I loved him. I couldn’t let him die.
Now?
I looked at him calmly.
“Then go ahead and die. I’m not staying with the
man who murdered my child.”
