The Clean-Freak Alpha’s Dirty Secret Love Chapter 04
Because of our fight, Waldo didn’t come back to the pack house that night.
The next morning at work, a lip balm appeared on my desk.
Beneath it was a messy note.
[Don’t be mad anymore.]
A Delta wolf sitting nearby leaned in enviously.
“This lip balm is pricey. The Alpha really cares about you.”
I picked it up and saw the words “Not for Sale – Gift” printed on the bottom.
How ironic.
Flora had posted a new status update last night:
[Took in a heartbroken big bad wolf. Got a generous thank–you gift in return.]
The photo showed an entire set of luxury cosmetics, beautifully packaged.
What a coincidence–it was from the exact same brand as my “gift.”
Waldo had commented below with a single word: “Awooo.”
A wave of disgust washed over me. I tossed the cheap lip balm–and
its hollow apology–straight into the trash.
That afternoon, Flora started feeling unwell. Waldo accompanied
her for the rest of the day.
He helped her into the elevator, his hand carefully resting on her
waist, as if she were made of glass.
“What exactly is the Alpha’s relationship with Flora? They seem even closer than mates…”
“Didn’t you hear? A few days ago, I saw them at the pharmacy. The Alpha actually took her to a private treatment room.”
“I tried to stop them, but the Alpha gave me a glare and said they’re
just friends. Told me not to overthink it.”
I heard the whispers and stood up.
The office went dead silent. Everyone looked at me with pity.
I walked into Alpha Thorne’s private chamber.
“Janet, even though Flora took over the alliance proposal, she doesn’t know the details,” he said.
He paused. “I know that plan was your work. We’ve just expanded
our territory and need an experienced wolf to oversee border affairs. It’ll be tough at first. Would you be willing…”
“Yes,” I said without hesitation.
I didn’t speak to Waldo for the next week. But I also didn’t bring up dissolving the bond again.
Waldo assumed I’d cooled down. He started staying at Flora’s
without a second thought.
They showed up together at the council hall every day, like a pair of fated mates.
The night before the mate ceremony, he actually messaged me.
[I’m so excited I can’t sleep, thinking about seeing the most
beautiful version of you tomorrow.]
What a hollow lie.
I laughed coldly.
He had no idea about the “surprise” I’d prepared for them.
On the day of the ceremony, I waited until dusk before Waldo
finally arrived to take me to the Moon Temple.
Flora stepped out of the passenger seat wearing a
champagne–colored gown, her makeup flawless.
She walked arm in arm with Waldo down the red carpet, and every
pack member’s eyes were on her.
The priest chuckled. “What a late–arriving pair.”
The temple fell silent. The pack members‘ faces were stiff with discomfort.
Flora immediately pulled away from Waldo, feigning disgust.
Waldo responded by flicking her forehead affectionately.
Flora’s face lit up again.
Watching this, the priest wiped his brow.
“Let’s begin with a look back at this couple’s journey.”
The big screen lit up–but instead of me and Waldo, it showed images of Waldo and Flora holding hands, embracing, even kissing.
Flora’s face went pale. “Janet. Was this you?”
I stood on the stage and smiled at the pack below.
“Didn’t you say you were just friends?”
“Then let the whole pack witness your pure friendship.”
The crowd erupted into murmurs.
Waldo’s head snapped toward me, his pupils shrinking.
