She Catfished The Don As Me, Now She Regrets It Chapter 07
Everyone in the ballroom froze.
“Do you know how beautiful I am? Ever since we were kids,
everyone said I looked just like Caterina. So why is she the princess
while I’m stuck as a Capo’s daughter? Why does she get the whole
world without lifting a finger, while I fight with everything I have
and still can’t even touch one strand of her hair?”
Her tears wouldn’t stop. Her voice grew louder. “What’s the point of
having this face?”
“I have no status, no background, no money. I can’t even afford a
decent dress. When I go to the mall, the sales associates look at me
like I’m nothing.” But Caterina? She doesn’t have to do anything.
She just stands there and everyone bows and calls her Miss Valenti!*
Wyatt shook uncontrollably as he listened.
“It’s all because of you!” Livia pointed at him, screaming. “You’re
nothing but a Capo. You’ll spend your entire life as nothing more
than a Capo.”
“Why didn’t you work harder? Why couldn’t you let me be born
into a wealthy and powerful family? Do you know how exhausting
my life has been? Why did you make me live at the bottom forever,
always looking up at everyone else?”
“I fought with everything I had to climb higher. I exhausted myself
pretending and plotting every step of the way. Was I really wrong? I
just wanted to escape the pathetic life you gave me. I just wanted to
be someone everyone envies. If you weren’t so useless and lazy, why
would I have to risk everything just to climb up-”
She couldn’t finish.
Because Wyatt was crying.
The man who had been strong his whole life broke down in tears in
front of everyone.
He didn’t wipe them away.
He just stared at the daughter he had raised for over twenty years
like he was seeing her for the first time.
He had worked diligently his entire life, never complained, lived
frugally, and sacrificed everything to raise his daughter, believing
that was what love meant.
In the end, it had become the reason she hated and despised him.
After her outburst, Livia saw her father’s pale face and realized she
had gone too far.
She pressed her lips tight.
Facing the shocked and disgusted stares of the crowd, she finally
lowered her head and stayed silent.
There wasn’t a trace of remorse on her face.
I looked at the farce unfolding before me and said calmly, “Livia,
you’re truly foolish.”
“Shut up!” She whipped her head toward me, eyes bloodshot. “What
do you know? You’ve had everything since the day you were born.
You have no idea what it’s like to have nothing.”
“You wear dresses that cost tens of thousands of dollars, live in
sprawling villas worth millions, and everyone bows to you wherever
you go. Of course you can lecture me from your high horse.”
“Why should I be the one forced to look up at you in humiliation? I
refuse to accept it. Even if I was wrong, it’s because fate is unfair.”
Wyatt suddenly looked up, ready to slap her again, but Livia blocked his hand halfway.
“Enough!” she roared at him. “What’s the point of hitting me?
You’ve been hitting me for twenty years and I’m still a Capo’s
daughter. If you had tried harder twenty years ago, I wouldn’t be in this position today!”
Wyatt’s hand froze in the air.
He was so angry he could barely breathe.
He forced himself to calm down, then slowly turned and bowed deeply to me.
“Miss Valenti, I’m sorry,” he said, his voice hoarse.
Livia watched her father bow so humbly before me.
Her lips moved, but she said nothing.
At that moment, Caius, who had been silent, finally spoke. “Livia?
You dared to play me?”
Livia trembled and turned to him.
“Caius, I lied to you,” she said through sobs, begging desperately. “But
my feelings for you are real.”
“Everything except the Valenti princess title was true. Every word I
said to you was sincere. I-”
“Shut up.” Caius’s voice was ice cold as he looked down at her. “Did
you really think some fairytale about a billionaire falling for
Cinderella actually happens in real life?”
He let out a cold laugh. “Let me make it clear. Without the Valenti
princess identity, I wouldn’t have looked at you twice. My girlfriend
will only ever be a woman who matches my status.”
