She Catfished The Don As Me, Now She Regrets It Chapter 04
“Come drink this orange juice first. You’ll be busy socializing all day and probably won’t have time to eat.” She handed me the glass.
I took it and glanced down.
The juice looked and smelled perfectly normal, but I noticed
suspicious traces of white powder clinging to the inside of the glass.
“Thanks.” I looked at her and smiled, then raised the glass to my
lips and took a big sip.
Her eyes brightened.
She didn’t notice that, under the guise of wiping my mouth, I spat most of the juice into a napkin.
A moment later, Livia leaned in with fake concern. “Caterina, are
you okay? You don’t look right.”
I swayed and grabbed the nightstand. “I’m a little dizzy. Probably
from how busy it’s been today.”
“Then lie down for a bit,” she said softly. “The party hasn’t started
yet. Get some rest. I’ll take care of everything for you.”
I lay down and closed my eyes.
In that instant, I saw a triumphant smile spread across Livia’s face.
It was exactly the same smile she had when she crouched over me
in my previous life.
Livia stood beside my bed for a while, as though making sure I’d
really passed out.
Then she lowered her voice. “Come in.”
The door opened. Two sets of footsteps entered.
“Tie her up, gag her, and take her to the abandoned factory on the
west side of the city. Don’t come back until I send for you.”
After giving the order. Livia left. She was eager to become the star of
the party–the real Valenti princess.
She walked downstairs slowly, a perfect smile on her face.
mmmm
“Happy birthday. Miss Valenti! You look stunning today!”
“I heard the Valenti family just gained control of another port.”
Livia smiled and nodded, graciously accepting every compliment as
though it all rightfully belonged to her.
She enjoyed all the glory that should have been mine.
For twenty years, she’d spent every waking moment copying my
tone, my expressions, and my every mannerism.
Coupled with a face almost identical to mine, no one had ever
suspected a thing.
Then the entire hall fell silent as someone entered.
Caius Romano stood in the doorway in a black suit, holding a
massive bouquet of roses.
He stared deeply at Livia and strode forward.
“Darling, I’m late. Consider these my apology.”
No one had ever seen Caius speak so tenderly to a woman before.
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
Livia held the roses, basking in everyone’s praise.
“And there’s a birthday gift too.”
Caius pulled out a small box containing a pink diamond ring the
size of a pigeon’s egg.
“Your name is engraved inside the band.”
“Caterina Valenti.”
“Do you like it?”
An awkward smile appeared on Livia’s lips, but she took a deep breath. “I like-”
The next second, the ballroom doors were kicked open.
The entire room went dead silent.
Everyone turned toward the entrance.
My gaze cut through the crowd and locked straight onto Livia.
“You’re Caterina Valenti? Then who am I?”
