My Blood Fed Her First Love Chapter 05
Juliana’s PerspectiveÂ
I mobilized all resources–private investigators, hospital systems, bank account tracking.Â
But Calvin had vanished like smoke.Â
“Surveillance footage shows Mr. Thorne’s last appearance was at the airport, using forged identity documents. We traced a fund transfer, ultimately pointing to an offshore research foundation overseen by Professor Williams. We found some things… you need to see this.”Â
Evans handed me a folder.Â
I opened it. My fingers froze instantly.Â
Medical records, a complete decrypted version of the encrypted diary, copies of my lab’s “targeted cultivation” plans, and his email correspondence with Professor Williams (parts of it).Â
The records and correspondence showed: Calvin was not in “functional failure“; he had actively severed all medical records I could trace and forged the failure report. He had long discovered the truth about the ” nutrients” and had started secretly taking antagonist drugs. He contacted Professor Williams not just forÂ
shelter, but to participate as a living specimen in a research project aimed at countering technologies like “blood exploitation.”Â
In an email, Calvin wrote: “…As long as I can completely escape this fate of being objectified, I am willing to be your most radical experimental subject… I will never let Juliana and Sebastian’s scheme succeed…”Â
My phone slipped from my hand and fell to the floor.Â
“Fuck…” I covered my face. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!”Â
To protect himself, he had completely severed everything I could use to control him and thrown himself into research that could target me.Â
“One more thing,” Evans said through gritted teeth.”Â
I accidentally found Sebastian’s complete medical data, pulled from several different private hospitals. He… doesn’t have the degenerative blood disease he claimed. All his ‘symptoms‘ are periodic and highly correlated with transfusion times, more like… some kind of addiction or dependency, or… performance.” stood up abruptly and rushed to Sebastian’s apartment to confront him.Â
The apartment door was unlocked.Â
I pushed it open and heard sounds from the bedroom–a woman’s moans, another man’s low laughter.Â
I walked straight in and kicked the bedroom door open.Â
On the bed, Sebastian was entangled with a young, fair–skinned, beautiful model. Sebastian looked radiant, full of energy, showing no signs of illness.Â
“Juliana?!” Seeing me, Sebastian screamed and grabbed the blanket, but it was too late.Â
The model panicked and tried to flee. I grabbed her arm and threw her out.Â
“Get out.”Â
The door slammed shut.Â
Sebastian cowered in the corner, wrapped in the blanket.Â
“Degenerative blood disease,” I said word by word, my voice cold as ice. “Was it fake?”Â
He was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly burst out laughing.Â
Hysterical laughter.Â
“Hahaha… Juliana, you finally fucking figured it out?”Â
He lit a cigarette, posture languid.Â
“I thought you’d be blinded by your own genius setup until you died. The medical prodigy? Just a fool I played like a fiddle!”Â
My fists clenched, nails digging into my palms.Â
“Why? I gave you everything, the best medical care, my… resources. Why would you do this?”Â
“Why?” Sebastian blew a smoke ring, his eyes full of venom and mockery. “Years ago, you, Juliana Thorne, the genius girl who thought too highly of herself, decided I wasn’t good enough, just a fling. But I needed money, resources, connections! So I found your weakness–your ridiculous need for control andÂ
your savior complex! I made up an illness, and you believed it, even found me a perfect ‘blood bank‘ husband! Every time I saw that fool Calvin looking at you with devotion while you drew his blood for me, I almost died laughing! These five years, watching you think you were saving me while actually destroying your own life, how satisfying!”Â
Slap!Â
I slapped him.Â
Sebastian fell onto the bed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.Â
But he was still laughing, laughing madly.Â
Hit me! Harder! Anyway-” he raised his head, hisÂ
eyes like a snake’s, “it was you who turned your husband into a mobile blood bank! It was you, for the sake of a liar like me, who drained his health and his trust! Juliana, you’ll never have real love! Calvin will hate you forever!”Â
At that moment, my sanity completely shattered.Â
Villa basement.Â
I tied Sebastian to the blood–drawing chair–the same chair Calvin had been tied to countless times over five years.Â
“Juliana… you… what are you doing?” Sebastian finally began to be afraid, his elegant mask completely shattered.Â
I said nothing, just silently set up the complete blood- drawing equipment.Â
Thick needle.Â
Large capacity blood bags.Â
Just like I had done to Calvin.Â
Juliana! You’re insane! Let me go! This is murder!” Åžebastian screamed, struggling.Â
inserted the needle, watching the dark red liquid slowly flow out, into the blood bag.Â
You stole five years of Calvin’s blood, enjoyed five years of health that didn’t belong to you,” I said softly my voice eerily calm. “Now, give it back.”Â
“No! No! Juliana, please… I was wrong! I really was wrong! I love you! I just…”Â
His pleas grew weaker.Â
I watched the blood continuously filling the bags, falling into a manic delusion.Â
If I could collect all the blood drawn from this liar, could it make up for the harm I did to Calvin?Â
If this lie completely disappeared, would Calvin come back?Â
“Juliana…” Sebastian’s voice was almost inaudible, his pupils beginning to dilate. “You… you’ll go to hell…”Â
With that, his head slumped to the side, and he fell silent.Â
Looking at the scattered, full blood bags on the floor, I suddenly knelt.Â
Placing my hands on the cold, damp ground, I dry-Â heaved.Â
But nothing came up, only endless emptiness and nausea.Â
“Calvin…” I murmured, tears mixing with the dust on the floor. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry…”Â
But I knew this blood, drawn into bags only to be discarded, could not wash away my sins, much less bring him back.Â
I used medical means and connections to fake Sebastian’s death, claiming he died from ”Â
complications of a sudden blood disease,” but Calvin had vanished without a trace, with no further news.Â
Two years later.Â
The hospital suspended me. Distracted and abusing drugs, I nearly caused a major mistake during a surgery.Â
I spent my days in the empty villa, talking to Calvin’s old belongings.Â
“Calvin, I made your favorite dish, come eat…”Â
“The weather is nice today, we should have gone for a walk…”Â
Neighbors and former colleagues looked at me as if IÂ were crazy.Â
Perhaps I really was.Â
That day, I received an anonymous email.Â
The attachment was a blurry photo: the VIP channel of an international airport, the back of a well–dressed, upright man talking to a woman with a capable. demeanor.Â
That back… looked exactly like Calvin.Â
The email body had only one cold line:Â
Invited Keynote Speaker, Global Symposium on Rare Blood Types and Regenerative Medicine Ethics: Dr. Conrad LaneÂ
I stared at the screen, my eyes bloodshot.Â
He was back… with a new name, a new identity.Â
I thought it was redemption, a chance for reconciliation, never anticipating- It was the judgment seat he had meticulously prepared for me.Â
