Moonveil’s New Queen Chapter 06
I sat down. Vivian took a deep breath.
“Miss Caldwell, I actually raised concerns about Stella before, but because-”
“I understand.” I nodded, cutting her off. “Pull Stella’s personnel file for me, please.”
She clicked her mouse a few times and turned the screen toward me.
I scanned it. Paused.
“She started as custodial staff?”
Vivian nodded. “Yes. Originally a cleaner, assigned mainly
to the Alpha’s office suite.”
“Three months in, the Alpha personally requested her
transfer to reception.”
“Less than six months after that, she was promoted
directly to Executive Assistant to the Head of HQ. After
that, she started making up company rules in the Alpha’s
name…”
“Including the Alpha Floor executive elevator rule.”
I stared at the promotion dates on the screen. Quiet.
The first one–custodial to reception.
That was right after Nathan and I completed our mating ceremony.
Back then, I’d had a miscarriage. I was home recovering.
And Nathan had stayed out all night, night after night.
Said he was out schmoozing clients, providing for us. Said it was for me.
He’d looked so broken up about losing the baby. I’d
thought he was grieving too…
So I’d pushed myself back to work before I was fully healed.
Thought if I got back on my feet, it would help him feel better too.
Turns out he’d probably been busy making Stella happy.
The second promotion–reception to executive assistant.
That was when I took my first overseas posting. Left for
the European Division alone.
Those dates on the screen. A handful of numbers. They
slid in like needles, quiet and sharp.
If Stella hadn’t thrown her little tantrum today, I might
never have suspected him.
I’d trusted him that completely.
I pulled myself back to the present. Looked at Vivian, voice cold.
“Effective today: Nathan is relieved of all duties as Head of
HQ. Stella’s employment is terminated.”
“Grounds- violation of company bylaws, abuse of Alpha
status and managerial authority, improper hiring and
promotion of unqualified personnel, plus suspected
violations of anti–harassment, anti–discrimination, and conflict of interest policies.”
“Look into the employees who were defending her out there. Check if any of them had quid–pro–quo
arrangements with Stella–performance metrics for favors.”
“Also- the so–called Alpha Floor executive elevator
privilege is abolished. Service elevators are for freight,
maintenance, and safety isolation only. No employee may
degrade another based on rank, gender, gender identity,
or Pack status. Violations go to HR and the Pack
Disciplinary Committee.”
“Distribute this policy company–wide today. Department heads sign off.”
“Yes, Miss Caldwell.” Vivian didn’t hesitate.
When we were done, I stepped back out into the hallway.
Every head bowed. Nobody dared look up.
I ignored them all and walked straight to the CEO’s
Executive Suite.
