I Was His Wife, But His Mistress Took My Name Chapter 03
Seeing that I had given in, Adrian continued.
“Give me the keys to the estate. Stay somewhere else for now.”
“Evelyn is moving in.”
You know she hasn’t been doing well emotionally since
giving birth. When you pack your things, be careful. Don’t
leave anything behind that might upset her.”
“Besides, we’ve lived in this estate for so many years. It’s old
now anyway. Don’t make things harder for her.”
He cleared his throat lightly, then took out a set of keys and a
property deed from the drawer.
I already bought you a new estate at Southwood Heights Estate.”
Move your things there first.”
I stayed silent.
But I couldn’t help remembering the day we first bought that estate.
We had designed every corner of the house together.
We picked the color of the curtains.
We even decided to leave two nurseries empty for the future
one for a daughter, and one for a son.
He had called it our dream home.
He personally carved a nameplate and hung it at the entrance.
The Haven.
But later…
he stayed in his office with Evelyn until sunrise.
And I was left alone in that empty estate, losing my child by myself.
I smiled faintly.
Then I placed the keys in his hand.
“It’s fine.”
The new one is nice too.”
From now on, everything I owned would be new.
Not just my home.
After leaving Whitmore Tower, I went to the private
psychiatric facility alone.
For the past three years, I had walked into those rooms
countless times.
I had watched my father and Nathan lie in those beds,
pretending to be helpless.
And every single time, I cried until I passed out.
But they never knew-
I had met someone here.
pushed open the door.
Sunlight spilled through the window.
A young man sat on the windowsill, staring into the distance.
His messy hair fell over his forehead, catching a soft golden
glow in the sunlight.
If any reporters had been here, they might have recognized him.
He was the youngest son of Montavera’s shipping magnate,
the one who had been sent to a private psychiatric facility years ago.
I looked at him and spoke.
I have money now.”
I’ll take you away.”
Adrian had no idea.
My real destination was never Switzerland.
It was Montavera.
When I returned to the estate to pack my belongings, the
house staff looked at me strangely.
They seemed like they wanted to say something.
But they hesitated.
I frowned and walked into the living room.
Only then did I understand why.
My belongings had been thrown all over the floor.
And Evelyn was walking down the stairs in a pure white
wedding gown.
I bit my lip and stared at her.
She lifted the hem of her dress and smiled.
“Sister, this is the custom wedding gown Adrian designed for
you himself back then, isn’t it?”
But Adrian already promised to give it to me.”
“He said your figure has changed anyway, so you’ll never be
able to wear it again.”
“And he said it was lucky that I liked it.”
She lifted the skirt and spun around.
*Sister, does this dress look good on me?”
“Does it suit me?”
The white gown shimmered beneath the crystal chandelier.
Evelyn’s face was filled with happiness and pride.
Back then, Adrian had stayed up countless nights just to
finish this design.
The first time I wore that wedding dress, he had held my
hand and said:
“Vivian, this is the only wedding gown of its kind in the world.”
I made it for you.”
But the man I had once loved so deeply had changed a long time ago.
Evelyn didn’t know.
had already given up on Adrian completely.
Why would I care about a dress that no longer meant anything?
smiled calmly.
My tightly clenched fists slowly relaxed.
“Evelyn, didn’t anyone ever teach you that taking something
that belongs to someone else comes with a price?”
“This wedding dress is worth 4.5 million dollars.”
Transfer the money to my account as soon as possible.”
Evelyn’s expression changed instantly.
You stole Adrian from me.”
“You lived in my home for years.”
“How dare you ask me for money?”
With that, she raised her hand and rushed toward me.
