He Said Cheating Was a habit, Fine I Swapped Grooms Chapter 07

Thomas’s lips trembled, his bloodshot eyes wild with fury.

“Amy, who is he? Why is he in his sleepwear inside your apartment!”

I slipped my arm naturally around Lance’s waist. “As you can

see, he’s my boyfriend.”

Thomas lunged toward me like like a madman. Before he

could reach me, I raised the pepper spray and pressed the

nozzle directly in his face.

“Ah!” He doubled over, blinded by the burn, his face swelling instantly.

His desperate eyes stared at me through tears streaming

from his swollen lids. “Amelia, how could you do this to me…”

I already told you I have a boyfriend. You lunged at me. That was self–defense!”

“We’re still legally married!” He roared. “You’re my wife. How

can you live with another man!”

I let out a laugh. “You dare say that? You cheated behind my

back for three months. What right do you have to judge me?

Your mistress was the very woman who bullied me for years. I

merely started seeing someone while my divorce lawsuit is

pending. I’m free to do as I please.”

A deathly hush fell over the room.

His lips trembled. He struggled to speak. “I was wrong. I never

should have cheated. Come home with me. I’ll even forgive

you for this. Can we try again?”

“No.” Lance cut in, lacing his fingers through mine. “Amelia

and I are perfectly matched, body and soul. We’re only

waiting for you to step aside.”

“You son of a-” Thomas raised his fist, ready to strike.

One cold glance from me froze him mid–motion.

“Thomas, leave right now or I’ll call the police. Security

cameras cover this apartment. That footage will strengthen my divorce case.”

Thomas dared not take another step forward.

After a long pause, he turned to go, throwing one last line

over his shoulder. “Amy, I won’t give up.”

Once the door clicked shut, I rolled my eyes.

Whether he gave up or not made no difference to me. I felt

absolutely nothing for him anymore–not even hatred.

The arm around my waist tightened. Lance frowned and

murmured. “You’re still looking at him. The nuisance is gone.

Why don’t we head back to the bedroom and make up for lost time?”

I smiled, looping my arms around his neck, and let him carry

me toward the room.

I’d originally hired Lance as my live–in personal assistant-

young, handsome, and charming.

He’d handed me his resume at a job fair, and the very first

time I laid eyes on him, something sparked in me.

Pure physical attraction.

I kept my feelings hidden, until one night we both drank too

much and ended up in bed together naturally.

Only then did I realize how powerfully someone’s body could consume me.

To my relief, he felt the same way—eager and insatiable.

In that moment, I finally understood the pull Thomas had described.

Physical longing truly is impossible to deny.
