He Chose Her Bed I Chose Their Ruin Chapter 05
In the chaos, I calmly walked out from the corner and took the microphone from a reporter’s hand.
“You’re even more shameless than I imagined, James.”
All the cameras immediately turned to me.
I continued:
“You used my trust, my connections, my family’s influence to build this company, planning to take my shares and then kick
me to the curb.”
“To be with Emily without guilt, you even went so far as to trash my reputation.”
I turned my gaze to Emily. She was biting her lip hard, her eyes burning with fury.
“Don’t you feel guilty at all, Emily? Since we were kids, I invited
you to all my parties, bought you piles of luxury goods so you wouldn’t feel embarrassed.”
“You call that bullying? Then what do you call it when you came between me and my husband?”
When I finished saying all this, the guests‘ expressions changed immediately, and they started pointing and whispering about Emily.
Unable to handle the pressure, Emily screamed and rushed off the stage:
“Enough! Enough! Shut up!”
“You just have money, don’t you? You think you can buy my
dignity with your money?”
“Why? Why do you get to have everything?”
She grabbed a wine bottle from a server and charged at me like an angry bull.
Anyone could see that Emily had completely lost it. She swung the bottle, aiming hard at my head.
I never expected her to go this crazy. I had almost nowhere to dodge.
At that moment, a figure suddenly rushed out from behind me.
David quickly stepped in front of me, reached out to grab Emily‘ s arm, and held her firmly in place.
Emily struggled desperately, still gripping the bottle tightly.
My heart was pounding, still shaken from the scare.
Looking at David’s tall figure and those strong muscles standing protectively in front of me, my eyes couldn’t help but fix on him.
I suddenly thought, if only I hadn’t accepted James’s confession back then, but had turned around to see David, who had always been there behind me, how much better things would have been.
David had never bought out five flower shops for me, but his feelings for me were more genuine than any lily.
By now, James had shakily gotten to his feet.
The man I once loved deeply now showed his ugly, twisted face, pointing at me and laughing wildly:
“Sophia! I have to admit, that was a nice move. But no matter how smart you are, your shares are all in my hands!”
“Right now, I’m still the big boss, I’m worth millions! With just a snap of my fingers, these reporters of yours will shut their mouths, and no one will know the truth!”
“You fool! Hahahaha…”
Watching his crazed display, I let out a cold laugh and asked him:
“If you think you’re so smart, why can’t you see that your beloved Emily is the one who killed your own sister?”
When I dropped that line, everyone held their breath.
James’s wild laughter froze.
He and his parents looked at Emily in disbelief.
And Emily’s face turned as pale as a corpse.
Her hand loosened, and the bottle shattered on the ground.
“No… that’s not…”
She tried to make excuses, but facing countless reporters‘
cameras, she couldn’t get a single word out.
