He Cheated, I Left Chapter 05
Early the next morning, I went to the courthouse.
As soon as I got there, Eric showed up, holding Lily‘ s hand.
He glanced at me, noticing the black coat I was wearing and the small white flower pinned to my chest.
Without thinking, Eric barked at me, “What’s with the new look?
“Seriously, you have zero sense of style.”
He’s made a habit of this over the past year.
Whenever I did something he didn’t approve of, he’d start bossing me around like he was in charge.
But now, I just smirked at him.
“I’m here to lay our marriage to rest. Why would I care about sense of style?” I said.
Without sparing them another glance, I walked straight into the divorce office.
Half an hour later, I walked out of the divorce office. As soon as I stepped outside, Eric reached out and caught my wrist. “Where are you staying now? I’ll give you a ride,” he said.
I used to love it when Eric touched me.
But now, the moment his hand closed around my wrist, a sickening feeling spread through me.
I jerked my hand away from him.
“It’s got nothing to do with you,” I said coldly.
Without even looking back at him, I walked off toward the parking lot.
For the next few days, Eric didn’t reach out to me at all.
It wasn’t until half a month later that Eric finally texted me again.
[Emily, where are you staying now?]
I looked at his message and, knowing Eric like the
back of my hand, couldn’t help but laugh.
So now Eric’s missing the good old days with me, huh?
Without hesitation, I took a screenshot of his message and sent it straight to Lily.
I texted her. [Control your man.]
Lily shot back right away: [Emily, seriously, do you have no shame? You’re about to get divorced, and you’re still trying to steal my man?]
Lily was a complete airhead. I’d always known it. But hey, some people were just into idiots.
No wonder she acted so brazen.
I let out a mocking laugh. “Scared? Relax, there’s way worse coming your way.”
After all, I already had ten women waiting in the wings.
They’d be using every trick in the book to seduce Eric.
I just wanted to see how deep Eric’s love for Lily really ran.
Just like Lily knew exactly what kind of women Eric went for.
Trust me, I knew his taste in women better than anyone.
After that, Eric never contacted me again.
I knew Lily must’ve thrown a fit that day.
I was more than happy to keep things quiet.
Before I knew it, the day we finally got our divorce, papers had come.
Eric showed up by himself that day.
He didn’t have that cheerful look on his face like he did when we first filed for divorce.
I knew exactly why.
After all, I had arranged for a girl dressed exactly like I used to in college to deliberately crash into Eric’s car.
And sure enough, he ended up hooking up with her.
Then, I had the girl add Lily on WhatsApp and, just like Lily used to do to me, she sent Lily all the photos and videos.
I didn’t see it with my own eyes, but I could just imagine how wild things must’ve gotten between Lily and Eric these past few days.
After all, Lily was not exactly educated, and she got no real skills. All she knew was how to throw a tantrum and act on her emotions.
The girl just sent a handful of videos and photos.
That was all it took for Lily to keep causing drama with Eric, nonstop.
Eric went ballistic.
I heard they were arguing so loudly that night, the neighbors downstairs actually came up to complain. Isn’t that just hilarious?
Back then, I was the one always arguing with Eric. When Eric saw me, he suddenly grabbed my wrist, like he was looking for someone to confide in, like was his old confidante.
Eric asked, “Emily, why do people change?”
Disgust. It chilled me to the core.
I just gave him a calm, almost mocking smile. “Isn’t she exactly the kind of woman you wanted? Don’t act surprised now.”
Without bothering to look at Eric again, I walked straight back into the divorce office.
When I came out with the divorce papers, Eric grabbed my wrist again.
“Where are you staying now? How are you getting home? Let me give you a ride,” he said.
glanced at the black car parked not far away. I smirked at him.
I stood on my tiptoes and leaned in close to Eric’s ear.
“Eric, do you even realize how disgusting you are? “How was I ever stupid enough to fall for a loser like you?
“Get lost. Even if you got down on your knees and begged, I wouldn’t even look at you,” I spat.
With that, I didn’t spare Eric another glance.
I turned and walked straight out of the divorce office.
That night, the girl I sent finally got close to Eric.
Nothing complicated.
Just drugged him a little.
And just like that, she slept with Eric.
Then, I made sure Lily caught Eric cheating in bed with that girl.
That night, all hell broke loose.
The three of them started fighting, and Eric even pushed Lily out of the way to protect the girl.
Lily had a miscarriage right there on the spot.
According to my plan, Lily had to have a miscarriage, no matter what.
Either Eric would be the one to make it happen, or the girl would.
Meanwhile, I stood outside the hotel, watching as Eric, wearing nothing but a bathrobe, carried Lily- covered in blood–into the ambulance.
That scene instantly reminded me of last year, when I finally got pregnant after trying for so long.
But then, out of nowhere, Lily sent me a video of her and Eric in bed together.
I’d always had a history of miscarriages, and that was the last straw. After seeing that video from Lily, I lost the baby again.
When I showed Eric the video of him and Lily, sobbing my heart out, he just got irritated and lashed out at me.
Eric snapped at me, clearly annoyed.
“You’ve always had miscarriages. That’s your own problem, not Lily’s. Why are you blaming her for it?
“I just couldn’t control myself. It’s got nothing to do with Lily,” he said.
I was so furious at Eric that my whole body shook.
But there was nothing I could do. If I divorced him, I‘ d just be stepping aside so Lily could take my place. Lily would get all the money.
And I’d lose the love too.
But looking back now, I was such an idiot back then.
If I’d just divorced him back then, like I did now, things would’ve been so much better.
Lily thinks she can just take over?
Yeah, good luck with that.
