After being assassination thirteen times by my fiance, I finally Chapter 01

I nearly died thirteen times trying to marry Diana Thorne.

Over the past three years, we have planned twelve wed dings, each of which ended with my blood.

The first time, an out–of–control pickup truck out- side the wedding dress store hit me, sending me fly- ing and fracturing my right leg in a comminuted fracture.

The second time, during a church rehearsal, a giant chandelier suddenly fell, hitting me and caus- ing me to bleed profusely from the head.

The third time, the whiskey at my bachelor party was poisoned, and I nearly died foam- ing at the mouth.

The Manhattan high society was whispering that I, this poor boy who had climbed up to the Th orne family, was cursed.

But I still love her unconditionally,

On the thirteenth time, on that bloody rainy night, three masked thugs cornered me in a dark al- ley in Brooklyn and stabbed me seven times- twice in the chest, three times in the abdomen and twice in the back. I lay dying in the foul- smelling puddles, only to be denied death once again.

On the day I was discharged from the hospital after recovering from my injuries, I returned to the manor early, but I overheard Diana’s conversation with her assistant outside the study.

“Miss Thorne, he almost really died this time… Per- haps we should stop? What if the old man finds out…”

“We can’t stop,” Diana said wearily and coldly. “His fa- ther saved my life back then, and my grandfather insisted that I fulfill the mar-

riage agreement. But damn it, I love Simon, not that m an I can’t shake off like a dog.”

“As long as Ivan doesn’t give up, these acci- dents will have to continue until he can’t take it anymore and gets out.”

stood outside the door, trem- bling as I touched the dense bandages covering my abdomen, tears silently stream- ing down my face.

It turns out that all these years, the woman I love d with all my might had been meticulously plan- ning my death.

But what she didn’t know was that this time, she really didn’t have to marry me anymore.
