Top Digger’s Counterattack Chapter 07
Elara said, “Scarlett, can we Meet?”
Scarlett came to a high–end cafe.
Elara was sitting in a VIP booth. She was dressed head–to–toe in designer labels.
Her flawlessly maintained face was full of arrogance.
Scarlett walked in and took a seat across from Elara.
She asked, “Elara, what did you want to talk about?”
Elara took out a check and slid it across the table to
Scarlett.
“Here’s two million dollars. Stay away from Kyler,” she said, her tone icy and commanding.
Scarlett fixed her gaze on the check lying on the table and smirked.
“Elara, have you been binge–watching too many romance dramas lately?” she sneered.
Elara frowned and asked, “Too little for you?”
Scarlett slid the check back and said, “Elara, Kyler
doesn’t even want to see me now. Isn’t this just a waste of your Money?”
Hearing this, Elara snorted dismissively.
“Kyler’s just bewitched by you for now. Once he snaps out of it, he’ll realize what kind of woman you really
are,” she sneered.
Scarlett stood up and said, “Since you are so
confident, let’s wait and see.”
She turned and walked towards the door.
Elara stood up and snapped, “Scarlett, don’t make me go from nice to nasty!”
Scarlett turned back and retorted, “Elara, I wouldn’t
even bother accepting your so–called kindness.”
With that, Scarlett pushed the door and strode out of the cafe.
As soon as she walked outside, she spotted Damien’s car parked on the side of the road.
Damien rolled down the window and said, “Get in.”
Scarlett slid into the passenger seat.
She shot Damien a curious look and asked, “How did you know I was here?”
Damien started the car and replied, “Elara wanted to see you, like I wouldn’t know?”
Scarlett buckled her seatbelt and said, “Elara is quite generous. She offered me two million dollars just like
that.”
Damien glanced at her and asked, “You didn’t take it?”
Scarlett leaned back in her seat and scoffed, “Trying to buy me off with two million dollars? That’s way too cheap.”
Damien chuckled and asked, “So, how much do you want?”
Scarlett turned to Damien and teased, “I want the whole Cole family. You think you can hand that over?”
Damien slammed on the brakes, and the car stopped by the side of the road.
Damien turned to Scarlett, his eyes were dark and unfathomable.
“Are you serious?” he asked.
Scarlett Met his gaze head–on and replied, “Dead serious.”
Damien leaned in closer to Scarlett. Their breaths
Mingled in the charged space between them.
“Alright, I’ll give them all to you,” he said softly.
Damien pulled Scarlett into a deep, passionate kiss.
Scarlett closed her eyes, and her hands slid around Damien’s neck, drawing him even closer.
The kiss was fiery and dominant.
Damien didn’t let go until Scarlett was almost out of breath.
“From now on, you’re my woman,” he said, his voice possessive.
Scarlett touched her lips and replied, “Damien, pleasure doing business with you.”
A few days later, the Cole Group was hosting a shareholders‘ Meeting.
As the family heir, Kyler was seated in the conference room.
He looked tired, with shadows under his eyes.
It was obvious he hadn’t gotten Much sleep these days.
Elara sat next to him.
The conference room door was pushed open.
Damien walked in, and Scarlett trailed in after him.
There was an uproar.
Kyler shot to his feet and locked his eyes on Scarlett, staring her down.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Scarlett, dressed in a sleek power suit, carried a folder of documents in her hand.
She walked confidently up to the conference table.
Damien pulled out a chair for her, and she sat down.
Then Damien sat down beside her.
He said, “Everyone, allow me to make an introduction.
“This is Scarlett, My newly appointed personal assistant.
“She’s also acting as my fully authorized agent for the twenty percent stake of the Cole Group in my hands.”
The conference room erupted in chaos.
Elara slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
She yelled, “Damien, you are crazy. How could you hand over your shares to an outsider?”
Damien leaned back in his chair and replied, “Elara, these are my shares. I can hand them over to whoever I want.”
Kyler Marched right up to Scarlett and planted both hands firmly on the table.
“Scarlett, what the hell are you trying to do?” he snapped.
Scarlett looked up at him and said calmly, “Kyler, you’d better mind your attitude. I’m a shareholder of the Cole Group now.”
Kyler gritted his teeth, his jaw clenched tight.
“You liar! You’d do anything for money!” he spat.
Scarlett let out a Mocking laugh and shot back, “Seriously, Kyler, haven’t you figured me out by now?
“I never said I was some saint.”
Kyler lifted his hand, looking like he was about to slap her.
But Damien was quicker. He grabbed Kyler’s wrist before he could strike.
With a sharp jerk, Kyler stumbled back a couple of steps, crashing into a chair.
Damien stood up, his presence commanding the room.
His eyes were icy as he said, “Kyler, if you touch her one more time, I’ll cripple your hand.”
Kyler’s eyes blazed with fury as he glared at Damien
and Scarlett.
“Alright. You two just wait!” he snarled.
After saying that, Kyler turned and rushed out of the conference room.
Elara pointed at Damien and shouted, “Damien, you’ll regret it.”
Then she stormed out after Kyler.
The conference room fell silent. The other
shareholders shot each other bewildered looks.
Damien sat back down and said, “Let’s continue the Meeting.”
Scarlett opened the file and began reporting.
Her voice was clear, and her presentation was sharp and well–organized.
