Became His Perfect Luna Chapter 07
I stood behind the others as Kael muttered to himself.
“The ceremony didn’t happen. We need to choose another date.”
“I wonder if she’s mad.”
“She definitely isn’t.”
He paused, his voice dropping until it was barely audible.
“She hasn’t gotten angry with me once since we got back together.”
*Does she even love me anymore?”
Tessa finally snapped and slapped him across the face.
“Are you even an Alpha?”
“So Grace died. We’re still here, and I’m carrying your pup.”
And Kael actually cried.
First came the silent tears.
Then he covered his face and completely fell apart.
The friends around him were all trying to calm him down.
“Alpha, she’s gone. You need to pull yourself together.”
“There’s still Ashford Group and the Pack assets to deal with.”
“And you never loved her that much anyway, did you?”
“Yeah. You dumped her because of Tessa, then chose Tessa again on
the day of the ceremony.”
“Now that Grace is gone, you and Tessa can finally be together.”
Kael looked up, his eyes bloodshot and burning.
“I didn’t love her that much?”
His friends fell silent.
Finally, someone said quietly. “Isn’t that true?”
“You kissed Tessa, crossed boundaries with her, and now she’s
carrying your pup.”
“If you really loved Grace, you wouldn’t have hurt her over and over again.”
The words hit Kael with brutal clarity.
Even people on the outside had seen it that way.
What about me?
Of course I had too.
Madison suddenly scoffed inside my mind.
“How ironic.”
“Only now is his bond burning at full–moon strength.”
I watched Kael cry, briefly lost in thought.
I had never doubted what Madison could sense.
Kael did love me.
There was just too much else mixed into that love.
And I still couldn’t stomach a love like that.
After breaking down in the Pack hospital, Kael turned cold again.
He ordered his people to track down the kidnappers, and they were
caught soon afterward.
One of them knelt on the floor, trembling.
“It was Tessa Cooper.”
“She told us to help stage the whole thing.”
“She said once you took her away, we should leave Grace there and
give her a real scare.”
Kael’s face was blank, his voice hoarse.
“A scare?”
“She’s dead.”
“We didn’t mean to kill anyone!”
The kidnapper broke down, begging for mercy.
“By the time we checked on her, she wasn’t breathing.”
“The Pack coroner can verify it. We really didn’t touch her.”
Kael went still.
Then, standing right there, he suddenly let out a wild, broken laugh.
Afterward, he went to Tessa’s house.
Old Alpha happened to be there.
When he saw the training staff in Kael’s hand, Old Alpha asked
without expression, “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Tessa is carrying your pup.”
“You barge in here like this, and you’re not worried you’ll scare
her?”
Kael said nothing.
He only stared at Tessa.
Madison spoke softly beside me.
“Kael is cold by nature.”
*After breaking down like that, maybe he really will make her pay
for what she did to you.”
I couldn’t count how many times I had thought the same thing.
No matter what, Tessa was still just his Pack brother, at least
according to him.
How could that possibly outweigh the years Kael and I had spent
rebuilding everything from the ground up together?
But the higher your hopes, the harder the fall.
Kael stared at Tessa for a long time.
Then he suddenly said, “Since you’re carrying my pup, let’s be together.”
Even though I had stopped loving Kael a long time ago, I still felt a
brief ache when I heard those words.
I was hurting for the foolish version of myself who had given him
so much over the years.
“Let’s go, Madison.”
“I don’t want to watch anymore.”
Moonlight flared across my vision.
The next second, I was back in the world where I truly belonged
I was still an orphan.
Only this time, I was an obscenely wealthy one.
