The Wedding He Turned Into a Funeral Chapter 03
Melanie leaned in close and whispered, “He’s
mine. You never had a chance. And that scrapbook your dead mom left you? I tore it to shreds.”
That scrapbook was everything–every page full of
my mother’s love. I’d kept it safe, never even touched it unless I had to.
Rage exploded in my chest. I shoved her hard. She
went down–and blood pooled beneath her.
She looked at Vincent, desperate. “Vincent-
please–save our baby!”
Then she collapsed. He scooped her up and ran for
the door. As he passed me, he spat, “You’re a monster.”
The guests were buzzing.
“She’s pregnant–how could she push her?”
“No mercy, even for a child.”
Melanie’s friends grabbed me and dragged me to the hospital to apologize.
Outside the ER, reporters swarmed Vincent and Melanie.
“Mr. Harrington, is it true Ms. Crawford lost the baby at your wedding?”
“Ms. Crawford, did you stage this to hurt the bride?”
Melanie went pale. She clung to Vincent.
He shielded her. “She’s not like that. Melanie is
kind–she would never do something so vile. And if
we’re talking about who came later, that was Jade. She trapped me into this engagement.”
From behind him, Melanie sniffled. “Vincent,
don’t blame Jade. I was clumsy. I couldn’t protect our little one.”
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
He pulled her close. “This isn’t your fault. It’s that vicious woman–she cost us our baby.” Then he turned to the cameras. “She pushed Melanie out of jealousy. She’s out of her mind.”
I heard every word from a few feet away. My fists clenched so hard my nails cut into my palms.
When I stepped forward, the press swarmed me.
Vincent walked Melanie over. “Apologize to her, or you’ll never see that scrapbook again.”
I gritted my teeth and forced out the words, “I’m sorry.”
That clip went viral overnight. People started
making fake RIP posts with my face. Death threats flooded my inbox.
