The Clean-Freak Alpha’s Dirty Secret Love Chapter 06

The Clean-Freak Alpha’s Dirty Secret Love Chapter 06

I turned to look at Flora

She had been secretly rejoicing that I hadn’t become Luna

When our eyes met, she flinched and shrank back into Waldo’s

embrace, pretending to be afraid

Her guilty act almost made me laugh

Flora, are you not leaving yet? Or are you waiting for me to print

out screenshots of your social media posts, chat logs, and hotel

checkin records for everyone to see?”

She went rigid, hatred flashing in her eyes

Janet. You’re cruel.”

I shrugged. Compared to you? I’m still miles behind.”

Waldo’s mother rushed over and grabbed my hand, her eyes red

Janet, I’ve always seen you as the Luna of this pack.”

Waldo has been foolish. Give me a chanceI’ll make him changePlease.”

I gently pulled my hand away and patted hers

This isn’t about discipline anymore.”

I looked at Waldo, who was still holding Flora

A germaphobe Alphawho can catch a shewolf’s cherry pit in his

bare hand, stay overnight at his mate’s friend’s house, and take her

to a private treatment room.”

He’s too dirty. I don’t want him anymore.”

Waldo didn’t say a word. His head was bowed, lips pressed tight

I set down the microphone, bowed to the crowd, and walked out of the Moon Temple

Behind me, I could hear murmurs, Waldo’s desperate explanations

and his father’s stifled shouts

But I only felt lighter

The next day. I brought a thermos of food to the hospital

My mother sat by the bed, watching TV. She’d lost weight, and her

hair had thinned from chemo. But her spirits were good

She smiled at me, then noticed my bare ring finger

Where’s your mate ring?”

I sat down and rested my head on her shoulder

Mom, the ceremony fell apart.”

She didn’t look surprised. She just reached up and stroked my hair

Her touch was soft, like when she used to rock me to sleep as a child

That’s all right. Do what your heart tells you

You’re not angry with me? The whole pack saw what happened.”

She looked down at me and smiled

I know my daughter better than anyone. You’ve always been cautious. If you reached the point of ending things in front of the entire pack, it was because you had no other choice.”

I buried myself in her arms. After a long moment, I looked up

The Alpha King wants to send me to handle border affairs in the

newly expanded territory. Come with me.”

She agreed without hesitation. Good. I finally get to spend time

with my daughter.”

A week later, I wrapped up my work at Duskclaw Pack. I was just

waiting to leave

The day before I set out, I visited Waldo’s parents

They had always been kind to me. At the ceremony, I’d

embarrassed them. I owed them an apology

Waldo’s father sat on the couch, an ashtray already full. He stood up

the moment he saw me

His mother’s eyes were still swollen. She held my hand and wouldn’t let go

We’ve already punished that ungrateful son of ours.”

Waldo stood off to the side. There were bruises and welts on his

forearmsprobably from a belt

I didn’t give him a second glance

I came to say goodbye.”

I’m grateful for all the care you’ve shown me over the years. But

Waldo and Iwe’re truly over.”

Waldo’s father let out a long sigh and didn’t push further

He was the one who didn’t have the fortune to keep you.”

We’ve always seen you as a daughter. That won’t change.”

I was about to leave when Waldo, who’d been silent the whole time

finally spoke

Where are you going? Will you come back?”
