Vanished After the Crash, Kneel of the CEO Chapter 04

Vanished After the Crash, Kneel of the CEO Chapter 04

[Samuel’s POV]

The moment I got the news, my legs gave out and I collapsed onto the wet pavement.

Rain hammered the broken guardrail. Below was the pitch–black ocean. Someone shouted “Mr. Harris,” but I couldn’t hear them. Victoria was always so careful when driving–she’d even change lanes cautiously. She would never drive off a cliff in weather like this.

I pushed away the bodyguard who tried to help me up and rushed toward the Bugatti outside the police line, ignoring the flashing lights, the family elders calling my name, and the media cameras. I just needed to find her.

When I pulled open the car door, I saw a white envelope left on the passenger seat. She’d left it there, with instructions to open it in two days–on our third wedding anniversary.

A sharp pain shot through my chest. I slammed my fist into the steering wheel, blood seeping from my knuckles.

Why did I agree to let her drive back to her hometown church alone? Why didn’t I send a convoy to escort her?

Because I was distracted.

I’d been busy arranging the family recognition ceremony for the twins Grace had given birth to- those two “heirs” who never should have been born.

I was playing devoted father while my wife drove to her death.

The search and rescue operation ran for forty–eight hours straight. The wreckage they recovered was completely mangled, but the driver’s seat was empty.

The officer in charge held his report with trembling hands, “The car reached top speed before impact. A fall from that height into the ocean–no one survives that. The current’s strong–the body could have been swept-”

“Shut up!” I roared, grabbing him by the collar. “Who said you could declare her dead? If you haven’t found her, then she’s not dead!”

My assistant dragged me back. The entire command center went quiet.

“Today is our anniversary,” I muttered. “She said she’d be back before sunset.”

I left the coast and drove back to the church where we’d gotten married.

The church was empty except for our wedding photo on the altar.

Looking at the photo, I opened the envelope.

What spilled out wasn’t a love letter–it was screenshots and a DNA test report.

Every screenshot showed Grace’s cruel messages to her, along with proof that I had illegitimate children.

The truth destroyed what I’d called my “honor.”

Next thing I knew, I was at Grace’s apartment door.

The moment it opened, I grabbed her throat without a word and pinned her against the wall.

“I warned you,” I said through gritted teeth. “You could ask for money, for status, but Victoria was never supposed to find out about the twins. How did she get these messages?”

Grace’s face went pale, her eyes darting to the documents in my hand. “I… I didn’t! She must have gotten into my-”

I slapped her hard across the face.

She clutched her cheek and screamed, “I’ve been living in her shadow for three years! I gave you two sons, and you’re hitting me because of her? This isn’t all my fault! You couldn’t control yourself–you’re the one who drove her to this!”

I froze.

*You killed her.*

Suddenly, I started laughing, backing away as I laughed.

“She’s not dead. Victoria… a woman with dual Stanford degrees is tougher than this.”

I’d actually forgotten—before I locked her up, she was a genius. If she could access those encrypted files, she wouldn’t just die in some car crash.

No brake marks at the scene. No body in the car. It was all too clean.

She didn’t die. She escaped. She used the storm and my distraction to fake her own death perfectly.

Because she knew that as long as she was alive, I would never let her go.

I turned to Joshua, my voice calm again.

“Pull the car’s computer logs. Find out if someone was actually driving in those final moments or if the autopilot was programmed. And trace every IP address that contacted her this week.”

Somewhere in this world, she’s still watching me.

“Victoria, even if I have to tear the world apart, I’ll find you and bring you back.”
