They Chose Her Over Me, So I Chased My Own Future Chapter 05
Over at the Northern Territories Omega Academy, Sienna
stood by the front gates, glowing under her carefully
styled makeup and gown–she looked every inch a pampered princess.
A crowd of students had stopped to stare.
“Who’s that new freshman? She’s absolutely stunning!”
“Call dibs on showing her around–don’t even try to cut in line!”
“That’s the student council president rushing over. This
girl must be someone important.”
This was the busiest, most upscale district in the
Northern Territory, and plenty of onlookers recognized
the three figures trailing behind Sienna. Gasps rippled
through the crowd.
“Wait, is that really Ronan Silvermoon, the Alpha heir of
the Silvermoon Pack? And Damien Blackwood, Alpha of the
Blackwood Pack?”
“Which means this girl’s the Silvermoon Pack’s princess!”
Jaws dropped all around them, the crowd thick with envy.
“No wonder she carries herself so differently from
everyone else.”
Every compliment and flattering remark washed over
Sienna, and she smiled sweetly.
It was worth splurging on a top–tier makeup artist first
thing that morning. She didn’t just want to outshine Rhea
–she wanted to outshine every single person here.
Mom and Ronan stood nearby, brimming with pride, their
gazes soft and adoring as they watched Sienna.
Mom’s lips tugged up into a warm smile, until her
thoughts drifted back to the quiet, obedient Rhea waiting
somewhere. Her good mood instantly evaporated.
Where was Rhea anyway?
She checked the time, confusion creeping in, then pulled
out her phone to shoot a text: [Hurry up. We won’t have
time to come fetch you at the gate later.]
Three full seconds passed, and no reply came. Her brows
knit tight.
Normally Rhea texted back the second she saw a message,
even mid–class. Why wasn’t she answering now?
Just then, Sienna tugged at her sleeve. “Mom, let’s head
inside.”
Mom snapped out of her thoughts, stuffed her phone
away, and pushed all worries about Rhea from her mind.
Sienna had picked a useless, frivolous major. It never
mattered what she studied–she had Mom, Ronan, and
Damien. Two entire packs catered to her every need.
Ronan had even told her she only needed to enjoy herself
at school; after graduation, she’d become the Luna of the
Blackwood Pack.
To keep Sienna’s resentment from boiling over, they’d
forced me to enroll in that exact same worthless program too.
The four of them walked over to the check–in desk, where
two faculty members were chattering loudly.
“Did we really get a top–scoring prodigy in this incoming
freshman class?”
“Sure did,” the second teacher nodded, eyes blown wide.
“Is there a mistake with her enrollment? She easily
qualifies for Royal Werewolf Academy–why end up at our
school?”
The other instructor shook her head. “Beats me. What a
waste of her potential. I can’t believe her parents didn’t
double–check her applications before submitting them.”
Had I been there, I would’ve laughed bitterly. They’d
checked every single detail–they’d been the ones to drive
me straight into ruin, the family I’d once thought loved me most.
The four of them heard every word. Mom’s face twisted
with conflict, and Ronan’s expression turned dark and unreadable.
Had they made a terrible mistake?
Sienna narrowed her eyes and bit down hard on her lip,
furious at the teachers running their mouths. Still, she
forced a gentle, sweet demeanor and stepped forward.
“Good afternoon. I’m Sienna, here to complete my
enrollment.”
The two teachers fell silent at once and helped her finish
all her paperwork.
“The dormitories are that building on the left–all
four–person suites, you can pick any empty room you like.
We give our students a lot of freedom here.”
Sienna nodded, secretly irritated. She was Sienna
Silvermoon, for the moon’s sake–how could these
teachers be so blind to her brilliance? They couldn’t
recognize a jewel right in front of them.
As she stewed, the teachers‘ attention drifted back to the
mystery student they’d been gossiping about.
“I wonder where that genius girl is. I’m dying to meet
someone who scored high enough for Royal Academy but
chose us instead.”
“Same here.”
One teacher glanced up, spotted Sienna still lingering in
front of the desk, and frowned. “You’re all finished, you
can move along now–don’t block the line for other students.”
Sienna’s eyes went huge. How dare this woman speak to
her like that? She was Sienna Silvermoon!
Her hands clenched tight, embarrassment and bitter
resentment coiling in her chest. Even here, everyone only cared about that lowlife Rhea. She was practically seething
with rage.
She opened her mouth to snap back, but Mom stepped in
to steer her away before she could cause a scene.
Sienna took a deep breath to calm herself. Fine. Those two
professors would see how brilliant she was soon enough,
and they’d regret dismissing her today.
Still, a thought nagged at her–where was Rhea?
