The Radio Secret – My Sister In Love with My Fiance Chapter 01

The Radio Secret – My Sister In Love with My Fiance Chapter 01

My little sister, Calista Keiththe only family I had

leftclung to me like a lifeline. She put my needs above everything else without a second thought

The first time I brought my boyfriend Logan Black

home to meet her, she was only fifteen. She balled her hands into tight fists and shouted straight at him, My

sister’s the best woman alive. If you ever hurt her,

swear I’ll make you regret it for the rest of your life.”

But the night before our wedding, I stumbled across an

emotional radio clip online. A girl speaking through voice changer sobbed into the mic

I’ve fallen for my own brotherinlaw, and he’s supposed to marry my sister tomorrow.”

He wanted to confess everything to her last night and call off the wedding, but I stopped him.”

My sister got burned bad by her first loveshe doesn’t trust any men at all. It took her five whole years to finally open up to him. He can’t break her heart like this.”

I know I’m terrible for feeling this way, but we really

do love each other. The hurt is so heavy I don’t know how to keep breathing.”

The clip cut off just as Logan burst through the front

door, his face drained of all color. Calista slit her wrists in her dorm. They rushed her to the ER.”

We raced to the hospital, and by the time we arrived, they’d just stabilized her

I stayed by her hospital bed keeping watch, and that’s

when I heard her murmur softly in her unconscious

state: Logandon’t leave me.”

I froze on the spot, my mind going completely blank. moment later, my phone buzzed- the wedding

planner was downstairs at my apartment, ready to do my bridal makeup

I gripped the device tight and spoke flatly, Cancel the wedding.

An hour slipped by as I sat beside her bed, still unable to wrap my head around what had happened

My own little sister had fallen for my fiancéand my fiancé had fallen right back for her

Logan pushed the door open, his features heavy with exhaustion and lingering terror. The doctor said

Calista’s out of critical condition. Go home and get some restI’ll stay here with her.”

His eyes never once drifted off Calista as he spoke, that raw, aching tenderness I hadn’t seen directed at me in

ages written all over his face

The doctor said she’ll wake up soon. I want to be here

when she does. Go grab us breakfast.”

Logan didn’t argue at first, but halfway to the door he spun back around. Rosie, she’s extremely fragile

right now. Don’t say anything to upset her when she wakes up.”

The whole thing felt absurd. No one loved Calista half as fiercely as I did, yet Logan was convinced I’d be the one to hurt her

I stared down at Calista’s pale, gaunt face, her wrists wrapped thickly in bandages

Her dorm roommate who’d brought her in told me

Calista had locked herself in a hot bathtubhot water

slows blood clotting, making selfharm far deadlier

The doctor had warned her cuts ran deep; she’d fully intended to take her own life

Even unconscious, her brows stayed furrowed tight, as if every fiber of her being screamed how miserable she was

Miserable for loving her sister’s fiancé, miserable watching us march toward marriage. And that agony

had seeped straight into my chest, drowning me, stealing every breath I tried to draw

RosieCalista stirred awake. The second her

landed on me, tears streamed down her cheeks

nonstop. I’m so sorry.” eyes

Tears spilled from my own eyes before I could hold

them back. I brushed them off on my shoulder, then leaned down to pull her into my arms, patting her back

the way I had when we were kids

It’s okay. I’m right here.”

Once she’d calmed down a little, I helped her sit

upright against the pillows. Rosiewhy didn’t you two get married today?”

I shook my head gently. Don’t worry about that right now. Focus on healing first.”

Calista squeezed my hand so hard her knuckles whitened. It’s all my fault, isn’t it? I ruined your wedding.”

Fresh tears spilled over her lash line. It’s still early. Go marry Loganthere’s still time, I promise.”

I held her close, careful not to jostle her injured wrists. Calista, we can talk about the wedding later, okay?”

I’m sorryI’m so sorry, RosieThat was the only

phrase she could choke out, sobbing into my shoulder for what felt like hours

A vice squeezed my heart tight. Calista, I can forgive you no matter what you’ve done, Just tell me why did

you- Calista stiffened instantly, then shook her head violently and clamped her hands over her ears. Don’t

ask! Please don’t ask me!”

Alright, I won’t,I whispered, pulling her back into

my embrace to soothe her

The hospital room door flew open without warning. Logan ripped me away from Calista in one sharp motion and pulled her into his chest. Calista, I’ve got you. Don’t be scared.”

Calista gasped through her sobs, clinging to the front of his shirtyet the second she registered his touch, she shoved him away hard. Get away from me!”

Her gaze held endless longing and heartache as she stared at him, and Logan’s eyes mirrored every bit of that unspoken affection

They shared a secret no one else knew, and I, the person tying them together, was locked out entirely

I picked up some food for both of you.” Logan set the paper containers down on the bedside table. Calista, your favorite oatmealfixed just how you like it, with milk mixed in. They were out of oatmeal except for one serving, so I grabbed shrimp and grits for you.”

Logan!Calista blurted out in a panic. She is deathly allergic to shrimp!”

She pushed her oatmeal bowl toward me at once. Have mine, Rosie.”

Logan’s whole body went rigid, unable to meet my eyes. I’m sorry. I was worn out from last night, it slipped my mind. Calista, eat yoursI’ll run out and grab something new for Rosie.”

Don’t bother.“.

Logan had forgotten the day we first met, when I’d accidentally eaten shrimp chowder and ended up rushed to the ER fighting for my life. But he could rattle off every tiny food aversion Calista had

His heart belonged somewhere else, and it was crystal clear

I’m heading back to the apartment to pack some clean clothes for Calista. Stay here with her, Logan. Each calm word I spoke felt like swallowing glass

I clung to one thin comfort: the doctor had warned Calista couldn’t handle any more stress. We’d sort everything out once she recovered

No romance, no engagement, no wedding mattered more than my little sister’s life
