Chapter 6
Celeste’s POV
The medical center was completely sealed off. After Allen discovered my body, he immediately called the police. Officers arrived quickly, but Dr. Martinez had escaped in the chaos.
My remains were taken by the coroner for autopsy. Only my mentally shattered family remained in the basement.
Several FBI agents secured the scene. Lead Agent Johnson surveyed the area grimly: “Based on preliminary investigation, this was an illegal organ trafficking operation.”
Hearing this, Allen slowly stood up from where he’d been sitting.
“Vivienne, I have to ask you-” his voice was hoarse, “you recommended this place. How did you know about it?”
Vivienne’s eyes filled with tears: “I… I had no idea this place was like this… I really didn’t know…”
“What about the doctor friend who recommended it? What was their name?” Allen pressed relentlessly.
“I was so sick and confused at the time… I can’t remember many details…” Vivienne’s voice grew smaller.
Allen said sternly: “You really don’t remember ANYTHING? But you remembered the route here perfectly-”
“Allen!” Mother interrupted emotionally. “What are you implying? Vivienne is a victim too! She’s already suffering so
much!”
Father weakly agreed: “Stop pressuring the girl… she can’t
handle this kind of trauma…”
Just then, a medic approached Vivienne: “Miss, you look very
pale. Let me check your condition.”
“No need, I’m fine…” Vivienne tried to push him away.
“You’re a kidney failure patient who just experienced this
trauma. An examination is necessary,” the medic insisted.
Minutes later, the medic frowned: “Strange… all your indicators
are within normal range. You show no symptoms of kidney
failure whatsoever.”
This statement hit like a bomb. Allen instantly stood up: do you mean?”
“What
“Kidney failure patients typically show obvious symptoms like high blood pressure, swelling, anemia. But this young lady’s vital signs are all healthy.”
Allen felt the world spinning, pointing at Vivienne with a hoarse voice: “You don’t have kidney disease at ALL! You’ve been lying
to us! Lying to EVERYONE!”
Vivienne’s face turned pale instantly: “I… I’m not… I really am
sick…”
Just as she was tearfully explaining, commotion came from outside. Several police officers escorted Dr. Martinez back in.
Seeing his enemy, Allen immediately rushed over and threw a punch: “You MONSTER! You killed my wife!”
“Mr. Cooper, please stay calm!” Agent Johnson tried to
intervene.
Allen was completely out of control, his fists pounding Dr.
Martinez’s face: “WHY? She just came to donate a kidney! Why did you have to kill her?”
Dr. Martinez’s nose was bleeding. To save himself, he finally
spoke:
“It wasn’t just me! That woman made me do it! Everything was
Vivienne’s plan!”
Everyone froze.
“You’re talking NONSENSE!” Vivienne screamed hysterically. “I
don’t even know you!”
“Don’t know me?” Dr. Martinez sneered. “How much money did you transfer to me? How many calls did you make? I have all the
records on my phone!”
Agent Johnson immediately signaled his team to search the phone.
Soon, technicians found call records and audio files. In front of everyone, those chilling conversations were played:
“Make sure the surgery is clean. Leave no witnesses. How much can her organs sell for?” Vivienne’s voice came through the
recording.
“Heart one million, liver eight hundred thousand…” Dr. Martinez responded.
“Good. Remember, she absolutely cannot come out alive.”
“Won’t her family get suspicious?”
“Of course not. They’d be happy if she died. Especially those idiot parents–I just have to cry a little and they believe
everything.
The recording continued, each word driving nails into everyone‘ s hearts.
Mother’s body shook violently: “No… this can’t be possible…”
“We killed Celeste…” she suddenly broke down. “We killed our own daughter with our own hands!”
Faced with ironclad evidence, Vivienne tried to run but was restrained by officers. Pinned to the ground, she finally shed all pretense.
“That BITCH deserved to die!” she screamed maniacally. “Why should she get your love? You should only love ME!”
“You’re INSANE!” Father shouted angrily. “She was your sister!”
“Sister?” Vivienne let out a twisted laugh. “I NEVER acknowledged her! I HATED her! Always hated her!”
Father suddenly remembered something, his voice trembling: The shopping mall incident years ago… you did it on purpose, didn’t you? You deliberately hid so Celeste couldn’t find you!”
“Of course it was deliberate!” Vivienne admitted without shame. “Who told her not to buy me the toy I wanted! I wanted her to get punished!”
Mother broke down crying: “My God… all these years… we kept wrongly accusing Celeste… no matter how she explained, we never believed her…”
“She DESERVED to be wrongly accused!” Vivienne’s eyes filled
with malicious pleasure. “Watching her suffer, watching her despair–that was my greatest joy!”
Mother was completely devastated: “What kind of MONSTER did
we raise…”
My soul watched all this quietly from the side.
Finally, the truth was revealed.
