The Clean-Freak Alpha’s Dirty Secret Love Chapter 02
As I was staring at the screen, my hand buzzed with a familiar
notification tone. I recognized it–Flora’s custom alert.
I took a deep breath and opened it.
The image showed a giant black beetle on a bed.
“So scary! I’m officially surrendering this room to him. I’ll have to move out.
Waldo leaned in to look. “That girl. Always causing trouble.”
Despite the exasperation in his voice, he snatched the phone from my grip and replied-
“Don’t be scared. I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
Without a glance at me–flushed with fever, face red and blotchy-
he turned and left.
I stared for a moment, then lunged to the living room window.
I watched that familiar black Maybach tear through the rain until it disappeared.
Only then did the tears fall.
Waldo, if you don’t want me–then I don’t want you either.
After taking the fever medication, I sat back down at my computer
to finish the draft. Flora’s video call suddenly popped up.
She was holding up the beetle toy, laughing her head off.
“This is a gag toy I bought online! And the Alpha actually fell for it.
What a fool.”
Waldo squeezed into the frame, his chin resting on Flora’s shoulder.
They were so close, there was barely any space between them.
“Little troublemaker. I heard you badmouthing me from the bathroom.”
I noticed immediately that they were wearing matching pajamas.
Flora had once told me she kept men’s clothes in her apartment for
safety–to ward off rogues while living alone.
But why did every single piece happen to be Waldo’s exact size?
On the screen, they started play–fighting.
Flora’s shirt was yanked open, exposing a sliver of her chest.
My voice shook with anger. “If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”
Waldo finally turned to me. “I’ll stay at Flora’s tonight. I won’t come
back and disturb you.”
Flora made a show of disgust.
“The Alpha’s presence is too overwhelming. I won’t be able to sleep.”
“So annoying. I’m going to get dark circles.”
Waldo let out a helpless laugh. “You were the one who said you were
scared of the thunder. Kept insisting on holding my hand to fall asleep.
Flora quickly turned the camera toward a thin blanket spread on the floor.
“Don’t get the wrong idea, Janet. The Alpha is sleeping on the floor.
Nothing’s going on.”
I stared at that thin blanket, pressed right against the edge of the bed.
All I could picture was them lying there, one above the other, hands clasped, drifting off together.
Even my wolf let out a cold, scoffing laugh.
【Janet, do you really believe that?】
I kept working on the draft until two in the morning, when I finally
passed out on my desk.
The Alpha of the Blackwood Pack was the Alpha King of this
territory. The alliance pact was a major event, closely watched by the entire pack.
It also determined whether I would ever be recognized as the true
Luna of Duskclaw Pack.
I couldn’t afford a single mistake.
That morning, I covered my exhaustion with makeup and walked
into the council hall–only to run into Flora, holding a cup of coffee.
Her skin was glowing. She grabbed my hand and immediately started complaining.
“You have no idea how awful the Alpha is!”
He got up early just to make me breakfast.”
“What right does he have to boss me around? I dumped the whole
thing in the trash. But he made another batch and forced me to eat it all…”
Waldo and I had lived together for two years. The pack servants always handled his meals.
I never even knew he could cook.
Listening to her flaunt, I felt so disgusted I doubled over, clutching my stomach.
Flora rushed to help me.
But before she could reach me, her coffee tipped over.
My freshly printed alliance pact was ruined.
