Calista’s POV 

“Freya! What nonsense are you spouting?!” Sullivan clutched his unhealed wound, staring at his wife in disbelief. The proud heir was now teetering on the edge. 

“She’s not spouting nonsense!” I locked my eyes onto the trembling figure off–stage, walking step by step toward my mother, Margot. “Mom, shouldn’t you give everyone an explanation?!” 

Margot looked drained of all her blood, violently biting her lip as she backed away. 

I cornered her, my eyes holding enough rage to burn down everything: “You knew at first glance that the child in my belly was Theodore’s! Yet even knowing all this, you still chose to stand on his side!” to shut up!” Margot suddenly shrieked, reaching out dlaw my face. “If I intervened, do you think there’d be place for you and me in this house?!

I worked hard to become the wife of Monroe Group’s CEO, I absolutely could not let a scandal ruin the rest of my life! You are my daughter, I did all of this for your own good–look at your status! Being the daughter of the Monroe family and marrying into the Lennoxes! it weren’t for me, how would you have any of this?! What did I do wrong?!” 

Gasps of total disbelief exploded from the crowd. This Chief of Obstetrics, a top–tier surgeon for twenty years, willingly became the ultimate butcher for a monster husband just to secure her spot on the social ladder! 

As the sickening conversation from the study finished echoing in the hall, Archer’s elite mask fully shattered. 

Frantically scanning the reporters practically shoving cameras into his face, he rushed to me, tightly grabbing my hands. 

Calista! Listen to me!” His voice trembled, forcing out a few crocodile tears. “Theodore forced me! If I didn’t agree, he would’ve killed me too! In my heart, I truly love you, wife–none of this was my originally intention, please forgive me this once…” 

“Don’t touch me with your filthy hands!“ 

The nausea shot straight up my throat, and I fiercely threw him off. 

“Love? Your love is stepping on the corpse of my unborn child to exchange for 10% of Monroe Group?!” I laughed coldly, “For money, you willingly swallowed the humiliation of Theodore cuckolding you! For profit, you betrayed your wife without hesitation!” 

Archer opened his mouth, shaking his head. frantically, but couldn’t utter a single argument. 

I leaned in, using a voice only the two of us could hear, sending him straight to a frozen hell. 

“Archer, selling your soul like a pimp, I will never, ever forgive you. I want you to watch your reputation get destroyed and rot in the mud of a prison cell for the rest of your life.“** 

Deafening police sirens suddenly wailed from below, red and blue lights piercing through the panoramic windows, hitting the faces of every sinner. 

SWAT officers armed with tactical gear charged through the doors. 

Mr. Theodore, Mr. Archer, Ms. Margot–you are suspected of multiple counts of rape, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. You are now under arrest!” 

Theodore’s legs gave out, collapsing on the steps like mud; Archer tried to jump out of the window to escape, but was kicked to the ground by an officer, cold handcuffs slamming shut on his wrists; Margot was still incoherently screaming “I’m innocent!” until she was dragged out the doors completely. 

This entire arrogant, criminal family simply evaporated at this moment. 

Standing amidst the chaos in the center of the hall, I felt the blood–soaked boulder that had been crushing chest finally pulverize into dust. 

“Let’s g go, Calista.” Freya walked up next to me, gently linking her arm with mine. Her eyes brushed past Sullivan, who stood frozen in place, without a trace of attachment. 

“Yeah,” I wiped away the moisture at the corners of my eyes, giving her the most genuine smile in both my past and current life. 

Together, we pushed open the heavy doors of the hotel. 

It had just rained outside; the air was crisp, without a single trace of blood. 

The sun tore through the dark clouds, shining, straight down on us. 

All the rot and sins had been buried. My new life had only just begun.
