My Blood Fed His First Love Chapter 06

My Blood Fed His First Love Chapter 06

I stood in front of the backstage monitor, watching Julian walk into the conference hall.

Two years. He’d lost so much weight. The blue stubble on his chin showed he hadn’t been doing well. That

excited gleam in his eyes at the prospect of seeing me made me sick.

That anonymous email was my olive branch.

“Clara, are

sure about this?” Lucas stood behind me, worry in his voice. “Once you go public, there’s no turning back.”

I turned to look at him.

This man had walked with me through the darkest

two years from that surgery that nearly killed me to returning to the medical field with my mentor’s help.

He’d seen me wake up crying in the middle of the night, seen me work while coughing up blood, seen

me want to give up countless times.

“I’m sure.” I gripped his hand. “I came back to bury Julian with my own hands.”

On the monitor, Julian sat down in the third row, his eyes constantly scanning the stage. He was looking for me.

The lights dimmed, and the host began introducing today’s keynote speaker.

“…Clara, who has achieved breakthrough success in regenerative medicine…”

I heard whispers from the audience. Many people knew that the name Clara had been tied to Julian two

years ago.

Julian shot to his feet, eyes locked on the side curtain.

I took a deep breath and walked onstage in my heels.

The moment the spotlight hit me, the entire hall went silent.

I wore a top–tier haute couture suit, my hair styled in an elegant updo. That Clara who’d been drained of blood, treated as a vessel, who nearly died on the operating table–she was dead.

Standing here was Dr. Clara.

“Clara!”

Julian’s voice was jarring in the quiet hall. He nearly tripped over the chairs in the front row, trying to rush the stage,

“Clara! I knew it—I knew you wouldn’t leave me!”

Security stopped him,

I stood onstage, looking down at him, a cold smile on my lips.

“Julian, please sit.” My voice carried through the microphone across the hall. “You definitely don’t want to miss today’s symposium.”

He froze, seeming to sense something was wrong.

I turned to the large screen, signaling backstage to play the prepared video.

“Everyone,” I said, “today I’m not just here to share breakthroughs in regenerative medicine.”

The screen lit up.

Two surveillance videos played–one showing Julian forcibly extracting my blood, another showing him strapping Serena to a chair and draining her blood until she “accidentally” died.

The hall erupted. Camera flashes went crazy.

Julian’s face turned deathly pale as he became the target of everyone’s ire. “This is fucking fake!”

Reporters swarmed him,

“Dr. Thorne! What’s your response to the videos?”

“Was Serena’s death an accident or murder?”

“Was your wife’s golden blood type why you married her?”

Julian was surrounded like a trapped animal.

He suddenly shoved through the reporters, charging toward the podium. Security couldn’t stop him. He dropped to his knees below the stage, looking up at me.

“Clara…” his voice trembled. “I was wrong, I was really wrong… but I love you! Forgive me!”

I leaned down, looking at this man on his knees.

“I will never stay with, nor forgive a murderer,” I said,

enunciating each word, “one who once sought to turn our child into nothing more than a living supply.”

Julian’s eyes widened. He tried to rush forward and grab me.

But a strong hand intercepted him–Lucas in his sharp suit, standing in front of me, coldly declaring: Back off. Show some respect for my wife.”

Julian recoiled as if struck by lightning. The word ” wife” completely shattered his last hope of salvaging our relationship.

“No… impossible… how could you remarry so quickly..

Just then, police burst into the hall.

“Julian Thorne, you’re under arrest for suspected murder and illegal human experimentation.”

Two officers moved forward, pressing Julian to the ground. Handcuffs clicked around his wrists.

“No—!” Julian suddenly exploded, struggling wildly.” Clara! You can’t do this to me! I did so much for you-”

“Did so much for me?” I laughed coldly. “Used me as blood bank? Nearly killed me and our child?”

“I love you!” Julian roared, his voice echoing through the hall. “Five years! Five whole years! I gave you the best life! How could you-”

The police dragged him toward the exit, his eyes full of resentment.

“Clara! Forgive me! We can start over-”

His voice grew fainter and fainter until it disappeared completely outside the door.

“My apologies, everyone.” I spoke into the microphone. “You just witnessed quite a scene. But I want to say this–the essence of medicine is healing, not harm.”

Thunderous applause.

I took a deep breath and walked off the stage.

The backstage door opened.

The nanny walked out holding a two–year–old boy, The child wore a little suit, his chubby cheeks rosy.

Lucas walked over and took the child from the nanny.

The child immediately wrapped his arms around

Lucas’s neck, calling out sweetly: “Daddy!”

I walked over, and Lucas naturally put his arm around

my shoulders. The three of us stood there like a warm portrait.

That night. Storm raging outside the delivery room. I was in agony, barely conscious.

It was Lucas holding my hand, staying awake all night,

gently comforting me: “Clara, you’re so strong, you can do this. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”

What he gave me was respect and care I’d never known before.

That’s when I knew he was the person worth spending my life with.

Three weeks later.

I was organizing data in the lab when my assistant knocked frantically.

“Dr. Clara! Julian… he’s out on bail!”

The pen dropped from my hand onto the desk.

“What?”

“His legal team found a procedural loophole and got him released on bail.” My assistant’s voice was shaking. “And… he’s in the parking garage downstairs right now.“

As soon as the words left her mouth, Julian appeared in the doorway. He looked skeletal, eyes sunken, bloodshot.

He saw me and suddenly smiled–a twisted, eerie smile.

“Clara…” his voice was terrifyingly hoarse.
