Moonveil’s New Queen Chapter 09
I nodded at the computer screen. “Well?”
“I have more. Not just the break room–offices, conference
rooms, access timestamps. Want me to show the Board too?”
Nathan finally snapped out of it.
He turned and slapped Stella, hard. “This is all

had to livestream it?! Now the whole Board
knows. Neither of us is staying.”
Stella held her cheek, eyes filling. “You hit me?! How dare you!”
“You told me I represented you! You said I could do
whatever I wanted! How is this my fault?!”
“You came after me first, Nathan! And now you’re doing this to me?!”
“This didn’t start yesterday. You’re saying I ruined you?
did to me?!”
What about what you
Nathan’s face twisted with rage. He pointed a finger in her face.
“You threw yourself at me to climb the ladder!”
“Who do you think you are? Custodial staff, bottom of the
barrel. You have no right to talk to me like this.”
Something in Stella snapped. She lunged and grabbed him
by the collar.
“Nathan! Say that again. I dare you.”
They started shoving each other right there in front of me.
Forgot I was even in the room.
I watched. I didn’t feel much of anything. Just tired.
I sat back down, picked up the desk phone, and dialed the internal line. Calm.
“Pack Security Office. Send two people up to the CEO’s
suite. Two individuals need to be escorted out.”
Two minutes later, two large Pack Security guards stepped inside.
Stella and Nathan were still grappling.
Two Pack Security Officers stepped between them, separating the pair.
They issued a formal verbal trespass order–both parties
were to exit the C–Suite immediately.
Stella thrashed against their light restraining holds,
screaming accusations in my direction.
“Zoe! You owe me!”
I looked
up, calm. “Owe you what?”
She froze. “I–well-
“He cheated. It’s your fault for not keeping him on a tighter leash!”
“Yeah! If you’d been a better mate, he never would’ve come to me!”
“And I’m pregnant. Nathan has to take responsibility. You
have to make him.”
Pregnant?
I glanced at Nathan.
He looked just as stunned. News to him too.
Stella kept going. “Zoe. You go to the Pack Council
Registry Office and sign off on a clean bond termination.
Fifty–fifty on assets. Everybody walks away happy”
“Or I go to the Board. I spill everything. All of it.”
I came back to myself and laughed softly.
“When a mate bond breaks, it’s never because someone
‘didn’t watch closely enough.“”
“The only person at fault is the one who chose to cheat.”
“As for the baby? That’s between the two of you. Not my
problem.”
Stella opened her mouth to say more, but the guards were
already dragging both of them out.
Her makeup ran. She screamed and struggled the whole
way. Her voice faded down the hallway until it was gone.
The office went quiet.
That last faint ache from the mate bond in my chest finally cooled and died.
My inner wolf settled, quiet. No looking back.
I leaned back in my chair, closed my eyes, and breathed.
I don’t know how much time passed. Vivian knocked softly and stepped inside.
“Miss Caldwell. Are you alright?”
“Fine.” I opened my eyes. “Sit.”
She sat across from me, hesitated, then spoke.
“I did some digging. There are employees who’ve been funneling favors to Stella for a while–performance
metrics in exchange for special treatment. The names on the list are…”
She slid a sheet of paper across the desk.
I picked it up and scanned it. “Verify all of them. Process
each one by the book. No exceptions.”
“Yes.” Vivian paused, then softened her voice. “Miss
Caldwell. You’ve had a long day.”
I shook my head. “Moonveil Pack Holdings has had a long
day. Letting rot like this fester for years.”
Vivian didn’t say anything else. She gathered the list and
slipped out, closing the door gently behind her.
