Loving You Was My Poision Chapter 07
Isa’s POVÂ
I stared at Vito curled on the floor, torn betweenÂ
believing he was genuinely sick or just manipulating me again.Â
Suddenly, heavy footsteps thundered outside.Â
CRASH!Â
The door came bursting off its hinges.Â
Luca stormed in with a squad of armed men, murder written all over his face.Â
“Isa!” Seeing me, pure rage flashed in his eyes.Â
Vito scrambled to his feet, blocking the bed. “Russo, this is between me and-”Â
Luca’s fist cut him off mid–sentence, connecting with brutal force.Â
Vito staggered back, blood streaming from his mouth, Before he could speak again, Luca’s men had him pinned.Â
“Get her out of here. NOW.” Luca’s voice was deadly. quiet.Â
His men immediately moved to cut my bindings. Deep red welts circled both wrists. When I tried to stand, my legs nearly buckled.Â
“Luca…”Â
“Don’t.” He draped his jacket over my shoulders, barely containing his fury. “Just get out. We’ll talk later.”Â
In the car, Luca gripped my hand like a lifeline.Â
His palm burned hot, pressure almost painful. I could feel him fighting for control.Â
“How did you find me?” My voice came out rough.Â
“The second you went missing, I mobilized everything.” Luca’s jaw was locked tight. “Castro thought he was clever. He underestimated what the Russo family can do.”Â
He turned to me, pain and rage warring in his expression. “Seeing you tied up like that—you have NO idea how badly I wanted to put a bullet in his head)Â
I stayed silent.Â
“But killing him would be mercy.” Luca’s smile turned cold. “I’ve got something better planned.”Â
Back at the estate, Luca took me straight down to the basement.Â
Where we handled “family matters.” I hadn’t been down here in years.Â
The door swung open. Vito was strapped to a chair, face swollen, clothes torn, but those eyes still lockedÂ
onto me with desperate intensity.Â
“Isa…” his voice cracked.Â
“Shut your mouth.” Luca strode up to him. “Castro,Â
you have any idea what happened three years ago?”Â
Vito frowned, confused. “What are you talking about?”Â
“My sister GAVE UP EVERYTHING to marry you.”Â
Vito’s eyes went wide.Â
“My parents‘ will explicitly named Isa as sole heir to the Russo empire.” Luca’s voice was ice, each word cutting. “But for you? She signed it all away before the wedding.”Â
“Know what that meant?” He paused for effect. “She stopped being a Russo. Lost all family protection. Cut herself off from everything.”Â
Vito’s face drained of color. “Isa, you…”Â
“Gets better.” Luca cut him off. “The Russos and Castros? Blood enemies for generations. My father’s dying words were that he’d never forgive the Castro family for what they did to us.”Â
“But Isa loved you anyway. For you, she burned every  bridge to her own family.”Â
Bitterness rose in my throat. My biggest regret- never seeing my father one last time.Â
Luca moved to stand beside me, voice dropping evenÂ
colder. “And you? When she needed you most? YouÂ
destroyed her in the cruelest ways imaginable.”Â
Vito stared at me, shock and horror flooding his features. “Isa, I swear I didn’t know… I never knew…”Â
“There’s plenty you don’t know.” Luca snapped his fingers.Â
The door opened. Guards dragged Joe in.Â
The moment Vito saw him, his whole body went rigid.Â
“Talk.” Luca’s command was absolute.Â
Joe collapsed to his knees, trembling. “Three years ago… the whole kidnapping was staged. It was all fake,Â
“WHAT?” Vito tried to lunge forward. Guards slammed him back down.Â
“Elena and my family planned that explosion together.” Joe’s words tumbled out. “The target was YOU. We wanted you dead so we could carve up Castro territory.”Â
“But things went sideways. Internal fighting broke out. The explosion happened early.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “Elena got caught in it but survived. I pulled her out during the chaos, got her toÂ
Sicily.”Â
Vito’s face went deathly pale, his entire body shaking.Â
“No… that’s… that can’t be…” he muttered, watchingÂ
his whole world collapse.Â
“Elena’s been playing you from day one.” Joe pressed on. “And us? We figured once she had the kid, we’d bleed you dry. Demand money for ‘your‘ child. ButÂ
then-”Â
Vito’s laughter cut him off.Â
That sound–raw, broken, agonized–echoed through the concrete basement. The laughter dissolved into wracking sobs.Â
“So… these three years…” He looked up at me, eyes swimming with pain and crushing regret. “Isa, everything I did to you… every horrible thing…”Â
“I destroyed you! I destroyed EVERYTHING we had!”Â
I watched him fall apart, feeling only emptiness inside.Â
Once upon a time, I thought watching him break would feel good. Thought it would bring closure. But now? Nothing. Just hollow.Â
“Vito Castro.” I walked up to him, looking down from above. “Every ounce of pain you put me through these three years? I’ll pay it back a hundred times over.“
Fresh tears streamed down Vito’s face. “Isa, just kill me… please, God, just kill me…Â
“Kill you?” My smile was cold as winter. “No. ThatÂ
would be far too kind.”Â
I turned to Luca. “Do it.”Â
