Lost the Bet on Our Anniversary, Ended the Relationship She Scriptted Chapter 07

Evan froze, then immediately pushed her away.

“What the hell are you doing?”

Sienna’s eyes filled with tears.

“Evan, I’m sorry. I’ve always liked you. I had feelings for you

before you ever got together with Aria.”

She took a shaky breath.

“At first, I told myself that seeing you happy was enough.

Then I got jealous. I kept thinking about what it would be

like if I were the one standing beside you instead.”

“I admit it. I resented Aria. I kept saying awful things about

her because I wanted you two to break up. I wanted you to choose me.”

Evan stared at her in disbelief.

Sienna kept going.

“But be honest with yourself. You really expect me to believe

you’ve never felt anything for me?”

“If that’s true, why did you choose me over Aria every single

time? Why did you defend me even when she was the one getting hurt?”

The truth hit Evan all at once.

Where had he been every time Aria actually needed him?

When she was in the hospital with a high fey and

gastroenteritis, he had been taking care of Sienta.

When it poured rain, he hadn’t gone to pick Aria up.

He had driven across town to pick up Sienna instead.

Even some of the gifts he gave Aria had been complimentary

extras from things he’d bought for Sienna.

At the time, he had dismissed all of it as friendship.

Now he saw what it had looked like from Aria’s side.

What right did he have to expect unconditional love from a

woman he had repeatedly put second?

Aria had only ever had eyes for him, even if she couldn’t recognize his face.

For the first time, every excuse he’d made for himself fell apart.

“Enough.”

Evan’s voice rose.

“Stop assuming everyone thinks the way you do. I was good to

you because we’ve been friends for more than ten years.

That’s it. I have never wanted anything romantic with you.”

He stared at her.

“You convinced yourself there was something more, then

called everything you did ‘protecting me.‘ You hurt Aria

because you were jealous, and I was stupid enough to let you.”

Sienna’s sweetness disappeared.

“Oh, don’t play the devoted boyfriend now.”

Her voice turned sharp.

“When you actually had Aria, you didn’t trust her. Now that

she’s gone, suddenly I’m the villain you get to blame?”

“Fine. I had my own motives. But you knew what I was doing.

You never stopped me.”

She folded her arms.

“She’s suing both of us. We’re in this together whether you

like it or not. So why are you suddenly talking to me like I’m

the only one responsible?”

By the end, she sounded almost wounded.

But Evan felt nothing.

He pointed toward the door,

“I’m done.”

“We’ll deal with the lawsuit separately, and after that, I don’t

want you in my life,”
