He Called Me ‘Jealous’ While She Hanged Off Him in a Bridal Party Chapter 07

The first set of messages lit up the screen, and the room went dead silent

Cody: [Tiffany, you up? Miss you. She got sick again tonight. I’m so over this. Everything’s easier with you.

Cody: [Gonna wait till she’s out, then I’ll head over.

I swiped to the next one. Tiffany’s social media post, Today’s haulwith a photo of her holding a dozen luxury shopping bags

Cody’s comment sat right underneath: [Glad you like em. I’ll get you more next month.

Third post. Tiffany’s pagevisible only to me. A photo of her in bed, Cody right there next to her

The caption read: [Got my boy all tucked in tonight. His pregnant girlfriend? Doesn’t even matter. He ditched her just to kick it with me. That’s how rideordie besties do it.

With every swipe, their faces lost more color

I’d found all of this before. Cody had bawled, begged on his knees, swore it was all talknothing ever

happened. Said the bed photo was staged just to make me jealous

For the baby’s sake, and because I couldn’t find hotel receipts, I’d let it go. Not anymore

Cody stared at the screen, horrified. You promised me you deleted those!”

I didn’t answer. I just looked at him

“You called me a cheater. You said I had no shame. Codyyou want to say any of that again?”

The insults that had been aimed at me now turned and crashed down on them like a tidal wave

Holy craphe was cheating the whole time, and he had the nerve to call her out?”

And that girl? Just friends? Disgusting.”

Cody’s relatives went silent. A few of them stepped

back, as if trying to distance themselves

God knows how many people were watching that livestream. Tiffany fumbled to shut her phone off, stabbing at the screen. She killed the feed, but it was too late

Those screenshots had already been blasted out to who knows how many phones

Cody’s voice shook, but he was still fighting. Those don’t prove anything! It’s just talk between friends! Friends say stuff like that!”

And you went through my phoneyou stole my private messages. None of this holds up!”

I stared at him, exhaustion crashing over me. Even now, he was still making excuses

Nathaniel spoke. Cody Barlow. My legal team has recorded every word you’ve said today.”

Cody’s eyes flicked to Nathaniel’s security detail, and his face went white

Nathaniel continued, That livestream you were running just crossed five thousand viewers

Harassment, defamationthat’s more than enough to put both of you away.”

Cody’s legs buckled. Mr. Sterling, noI didn’t-”

The livestream wasn’t even me- it was Tiffany! She did it! It had nothing to do with me!”

Tiffany’s head whipped around, disbelief all over her face. What did you just say?”

Cody didn’t look at her. He was still begging

Tiffany’s expression shattered. Cody Barlow!”

Finally, he turned to her. Shut up. If you hadn’t started that livestream, none of this would be happening.”

Tiffany looked like she’d been slapped. Her voice trembled. You told me to come! You wanted me here! And now you’re blaming me?”

She lunged at him, clawing and swinging, but he was stronger

He smacked her to the floor

Cody started to say something else, but the security team was already there. Mr. Barlow, you’ll need to come with us.”

Panic flooded his face. He turned to me. Elena- everything I saidit was just words. I was angry. I couldn’t stand the thought of losing you.”

Ten years, Elena. You wouldn’t really do this to me.”

Think about our baby. You really want our child to grow up without a father?”

I looked down at him

All I felt was disbelief. I’d loved this man for a decade

Thank god I was finally awake

Cody, I’m ending this pregnancy. And there is no us.Not now. Not ever.”

He completely collapsed. On the floor, tears and snot smeared across his face, he begged

I turned and walked away

I didn’t look back
