Abandoned to the Mafia, I Rose as the Don’s Most Trusted Lawyer Chapter 05

The entire hallway fell silent

A teacher from the classroom next door poked her

head out, took one look, and immediately disappeared again

Marcus walked into the classroom

His heavy leather boots struck the floor with a dull thud at every step

Hearing the commotion, the homeroom teacher hurried over

Gentlemen, who are you looking for? I’m this class’s

homeroom teacher. Whatever this is about, you can speak to me first.”

Marcus gave her a cold look

Where was all this concern while she was being bullied for two days straight?”

The teacher had no answer

Marcus ignored her. His gaze swept across the classroom before stopping on Brian

Brian stood at the front of the room, too frightened to move

Was it you?”

No one answered

Brian had already realized Marcus was there for him

Marcus walked over and stared down at him

You’re Brian Walker?”

Brian nodded, then immediately shook his head in panic

Your father is Richard Walker. He owns buildingmaterials company. Is that right?”

Brian finally managed to force out one word

Yes”

Marcus smiled

Your father owes me more than three hundred thousand dollars, and he’s been stalling for six

months. I was planning to wait until next month before paying him a visit.”

He paused

Then you decided to bully one of my people.”

Brian immediately ducked behind the teacher’s desk

I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! Please don’t hit me!”

There was no sympathy in Marcus’s voice

I’m not going to hit you. Beating up a kid isn’t worth my time.”

He turned and walked toward the first row

The boy who had laughed the loudest earlier was sitting there

Marcus picked up his backpack

A superhero key chain hung from the blue bag

He turned it upside down

Textbooks, school supplies, and snacks spilled across the floor

Then he raised his boot and stepped down on the pile of books

You stepped on our little lawyer’s books. Now I’m

stepping on yours. Fair enough?”

He didn’t raise his voice, but everyone in the room heard him

Then he moved on to the second student, and then the third

Every time another backpack was destroyed, another student burst into tears

Brian was saved for last

His backpack was larger than the others, and there was a handheld game console inside

Marcus glanced down at it and crushed it beneath his boot

When he was finished, he turned to the homeroom teacher

Give your principal a message. My name is Marcus Black. If the school has a problem, the principal or the

school’s attorney can contact Blackstone Debt Resolution and Compliance. Our office is in the industrial district. They’re welcome anytime.”

He paused

Erin will be back in class tomorrow. If anyone messes with her again, next time this won’t end with a few ruined backpacks.”

With that, Marcus headed for the door, followed by George and Noah

As they reached the doorway, Noah looked back at the books and school supplies scattered across the floor

Those backpacks looked expensive. Tell Richard to send us the bill. We’ll take it out of the late fees he already owes. There’s enough to buy a truckload of new bags.”

The classroom door closed behind them

Their footsteps gradually faded down the hallway
