Reborn After They Aborted My baby and Stole My Womb Chapter 05

Calista’s POV

As my fingertips brushed the cold metal hidden under the pillow–a micro voice recorder I set up beforehand–my racing heart slowly settled down.

As long as Sullivan dared to confess tonight, this recording would be the ironclad proof of him raping his stepsister.

But the next second, he just walked over to me and draped his jacket over my shoulders with strict boundary.

“Put this on,” he ordered lowly.

But this wasn’t the script I wanted.

I looked up, purposely letting the jacket slide off one shoulder, revealing the faded bruise from the IV needle near my collarbone. I leaned in, letting my breath hit his clenched jawline.

‘Sullivan,” I lowered my voice purposefully, “Freya is in Milan. No one will know tonight.”

Calista, put your clothes on.” He stepped back, his voice incredibly gruff. “I know losing the baby gave you a lot of trauma, you’re not thinking straight. I’ll pretend tonight never happened.”

“Pretend it never happened?”

I smirked, letting out a low laugh that made my shoulders shake. I threw off the annoying jacket, stepped barefoot onto the carpet, and slowly backed him into a corner.

“Are you really not sad about losing the baby, brother?”

I stared dead into his eyes.

“That was an accident. You’re young, you’ll have more.” He looked away, not daring to meet my gaze.

*“Cut the act, Sullivan!“**

suddenly raised my voice, every word dripping blood.

“You weren’t this reserved the night you pinned me to the bed and got me pregnant with that child!”

“What nonsense are you talking about?!”

Sullivan snapped his head back to me, his pupils trembling violently. “I’m your brother! How could I ever touch you!”

Impossible?” I clenched my teeth, a layer of crazed mockery appearing in my eyes. “Then why don’t you tell me what that ultrasound report said–did you completely forget?”

“I have no idea what crazy fit you’re throwing!” Sullivan exploded entirely, grabbing my arms and

forcefully shoving me toward the door. “Get back to your own room!”

“Go to hell.“

I grabbed a sharp fruit knife off the table and, without hesitation, plunged it hard into his chest.

The muffled sound of the blade piercing suit fabric and flesh echoed terrifyingly loud in the late–night bedroom.

Sullivan’s eyes widened in disbelief, looking down at the dark red pouring from his chest before his large frame stumbled backward and hit the edge of the bed. Just then-

Frantic, chaotic footsteps exploded down the hallway.

The bedroom door was kicked wide open.

“Sullivan, that overseas project-”

Theodore’s voice cut off abruptly.

His heir was bleeding on the floor, and his stepdaughter was holding a dripping knife.

Calista…”

Theodore’s gentle mask shattered completely, his eyes turning scarlet with fury.

**“What the hell are you doing running into your brother’s room dressed like a cheap whore in the middle of the night!“**

He didn’t give me a single chance to explain, slapping me so hard I went flying.

Hearing the commotion, bodyguards rushed in, dragging me up like a dead dog.

“Get Sullivan to the hospital immediately!” Theodore roared fiercely. He turned and glared at me, his eyes as venomous as looking at a corpse. “Throw this dirty slut into the basement! Nobody is allowed to give her food without my permission!”

In the cold, damp basement, I was chained to the corner.

My wrists were rubbed raw and bloody, the wounds beginning to fester.

People came down every day. Sometimes it was bodyguards giving me a merciless beating, other times it was buckets of dirty ice water. They controlled the intensity perfectly–making sure I didn t die, but making me wish I were dead.

Is this the price of my revenge?

Just as I thought I was going to rot away silently in this pitch–dark hell like in my past life-

A soft *click* came from the door lock.

A woman stood before me and slowly squatted down.

It was Freya.

My whole body stiffened. I instinctively shrank back) into the shadows. She must be here to avenge her husband, right? After all, I was the one who stabbed the knife into Sullivan’s chest.

But just a second later, I curled my cracked lips into a mocking, tragic smile.

Whatever. This life is ruined anyway, how much worse could it get?

Think I’m here to take revenge for my husband?”

kept silent, just looking at her coldly.

“Calista, you were smart for a moment, but also incredibly stupid.”

A flash of extreme pity, mixed with deep mockery, crossed Freya’s eyes. She suddenly leaned in, her lowered voice seeping with a bone–chilling cold You stabbed the wrong person.”
