After being assassination thirteen times by my fiance, I finally Chapter 06

Diana’s Perspective

Simon was wheeled out of the emergency room.

“President Thorne, Mr. Blake only has minor abrasions on his el-

bows and forehead, and a slight concussion,” the attending physi-

cian said respectfully. “He doesn’t need a blood transfusion at all.”

was stunned: “Just a scratch?”

Yes. The car accident wasn’t serious.”

breathed a sigh of relief, but then, for some reason, my heart sank.

glanced at my watch; a full four hours had passed since I left the under- ground clinic.

That damn quack doctor didn’t actually draw four bags of blood from Ivan, di he? Ivan looks so weak and skinny today…

For some reason, Ivan’s desperate and empty eyes sud denly flashed into my mind.

“Marcus! Go to the under-

ground clinic and bring Ivan out!” I tugged at my collar in frustration.

Marcus had just taken out his walkietalkie when his expres-

sion changed drastically: “Boss… the people guarding over there say something’s happened.”

A chill ran through me, and I slammed on the gas and sped to the illegal clinic myself.

The moment the door was kicked open, the stench of blood hit us.

The iron bed was empty, the sheets soaked in a large patch of despairing dark red. Four bags filled with blackishred blood lay scattered on the floor, a horrifying sight.

But Ivan has disappeared.

“Where is he?!” I grabbed the shady doctor, whose face was covered in blood, from the ground. “I’m ask- ing you where he is!”

The quack doctor trem-

Bled with fear: “Miss Thorne… a group of people dressed as top–tier mercenaries suddenly broke in… They saw Mr. Ivan was unconscious, knocked me out, and kid- napped him…”

“Who stole it?”

“No… I don’t know! But when I saw him leave, the heart monitor was already show- ing a flat line…”

“You’re talking nonsense!” I kicked him a way. “He’s so tough, how could he possi- bly die!”

Three whole days.

I mobilized all of New York’s underworld and legitimate society, blocked the airport and port, and searched every public and private hospital.

Ivan vanished completely, like a drop of water evaporating into the air.

The day Simon was discharged from the hospital, I sa on the sofa in his VIP ward, watching him energetically try on the Rolex I had just given him.

“Diana, have you caught that murderer Ivan?” Simon leaned closer and asked sweetly, “He almost killed me, you absolutely can’t let him get away with this.” stared intently at Simon.

On the day of the car accident, the driver sw ore it was a life–or–death struggle… but Simon only got a few scrapes?

“Simon,” I said coldly, “was that car accident really not something you staged yourself?”

The air in the ward seemed to freeze instantly.

Simon turned pale: “Diana… what are you talking about? How could I possibly joke about my own life?”

I stood up, not missing the guilty look in his eyes, and a surge of anger shot through me.

“I’m warning you, if I find out this is a trick you used t o frame him… I’ll make you pay the price.” turned and pushed open the door. Marçus stood outside, his face grave. “Boss, we‘ quve found Young Master Ivan’s trail. A private helicopter owned by the Thorne fam- ily has landed at a hospice in upstate state.”
