My Ex’s Stepfather Became My Addiction Chapter 07
The helicopter landed on the helipad atop the Thorne Tower.Â
The wind was strong, whipping my hair around my face. I struggled to smooth down the hem of my skirt, trying to mask my unsteady steps.Â
We were returning to civilization, back to our roles–he was my boss, and the stepfather of the ex–boyfriend who broke my heart.Â
The elevator doors opened, and we stepped into the executive lift.Â
Just as the doors were about to slide shut, a hand suddenly shot out to block them.Â
A young man walked in, dressed in a flashy white casual suit, wearing sunglasses he didn’t even bother to remove indoors.Â
The moment I saw him, my blood ran cold.Â
Caleb. The jerk who dumped me and plunged me into an abyss of insecurity.Â
He took off his sunglasses, revealing a pair of flirtatious, peach–blossom eyes. His gaze traveled between me and Silas before finally settling on me, followed by a low whistle.Â
“If it isn’t Elena,” he said, looking me up and down with a disgusting playfulness in his eyes. “Heard you’re working as my dad’s secretary? What’s the matter, didn’t sleep well last night? Your legs are shaking.”Â
Instinctively, I shrank behind Silas.Â
Silas stood there, expressionless, but the pressure in the elevator dropped to freezing point instantly.Â
My new prescription wouldn’t arrive for another three days.Â
Those three days became my personal hell. I was like a frightened bird, carefully avoiding Silas, and even more so, avoiding the “ghost” who had suddenly returned to the country–my ex–boyfriend.Â
But some occasions were unavoidable.Â
Like tonight’s high–end business gala to celebrate the successful merger. As the CEO’s assistant, I had to attend in full dress, even though my body was teetering on the edge of withdrawal, and my nerves were stretched to their limit.Â
The banquet hall flowed with expensive champagne towers and hypocritical pleasantries. The air was thick with a mix of men’s cologne, cigars, and alcohol–pure torture for someone in my hypersensitive state.Â
Clutching a glass of soda, I tried to shrink into a corner, minimizing my presence as much as possible.Â
Not far away, Silas was surrounded by a group of board members and partners. Dressed in a sharply tailored black tuxedo, simply standing there swirling his wine glass exuded an intense dominance impossible to ignore.Â
Occasionally, his gaze would cut through the crowd, landing precisely on me. That dark, deep look–as if he were observing a possession–made my body flush with heat and my legs go weak.Â
But I was more afraid of another gaze.Â
Caleb Thorne. Silas’s stepson, who had just returned this week to take over as the Marketing Director.Â
He kept staring at me. That look wasn’t the gentle gaze of the sunny boy in my memories; it was a mix of confusion, anger, and some dark emotion I couldn’t quite name.Â
“Elena?”Â
The nightmarish voice sounded right next to my ear. stiffened, nearly spilling my drink.Â
Caleb stood behind me, swirling a glass of whiskey, his eyes a bit clouded. “Avoiding me? It’s been three whole days, and you haven’t even said hello?”Â
“Caleb… long time no see.” I forced a smile and took a step back. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.”Â
I practically fled.Â
Rushing into the empty ladies‘ room, I locked myself in a stall and leaned against the door, gasping for air.Â
The silence here was panic–inducing. My thoughts.Â
drifted uncontrollably to Silas. The man who had played with me in front of everyone on the helicopter, the devil who had made me completely surrender.Â
Just thinking about the touch of his rough, large hands, thinking about that feeling of being completely filled, a dangerous heat began to surge from deep within my abdomen.Â
“Damn it…” I bit my lip, closing my eyes in despair.Â
Without the medication to suppress it, mere memories were enough to trigger an episode.Â
My breathing grew rapid, my hand sliding uncontrollably into the slit of my evening gown, trying to relieve the unbearable aching emptiness through the thin fabric of my panties.Â
pleasure built sharply and desperately, my other hand gripping the partition tightly…Â
Suddenly, the main door to the restroom was shoved open.Â
I froze instantly, my heart pounding like thunder.Â
Footsteps stopped right outside my stall.Â
“Elena? I know you’re in there.”Â
It was Caleb.Â
“I saw you come in. Stop hiding, we need to talk.” His voice carried the slur of alcohol and suppressed rage.Â
remained silent, praying he would just leave. My hand was still in that compromising position, shame making my entire body burn.Â
“Talk about why you’re avoiding me? Talk about why you always act like such a saint?” He suddenly laughed, the sound sharp and ugly. “Or maybe talk about what you did on the helicopter?”Â
My blood froze instantly.Â
“That pilot has a loose tongue, Elena. He told me everything.” Caleb slammed his hand against the stallÂ
door. “How did you manage to seduce my stepfather on a helicopter? Disgusting. When you were with me, you wouldn’t even let me touch you, saying you were a germaphobe, saying you were scared… and then you turn around and climb into that old man’s bed?”Â
“Go away, Caleb!” I finally screamed, frantically adjusting my dress. ” This is the ladies‘ room!”Â
“This is *my* territory!”Â
Before his words even landed, the lock on the stall door gave a sickening snap.Â
The door was kicked open violently, and Caleb barged in. His expression was twisted and savage–the look of betrayal mingled with a dark desire that had clearly been festering.Â
“I was always so patient with you,” he spat, stepping into the cramped space and pinning me beside the toilet. “Playing the perfect boyfriend, waiting for you to be ready. But you didn’t need to get ready, did you? You’re just a tease, a bitch who held out on purpose.”Â
“Stop! What are you doing!” I tried to push him away. in terror, but his strength was shocking, clamping around my wrists like iron pliers.Â
His knee forced its way between my legs, and I felt the disgusting hardness beneath his trousers pressing against me.Â
“Since you can give it to him, you can damn well give it to me too.”Â
He yanked violently at my gown, the expensive fabric ripping with a harsh tearing sound.Â
“No! Help-” I started to scream, but he clamped a hand over my mouth, smothering the sound against his palm.Â
Tears streamed down my cheeks as despair drowned me like a flood. He undid his belt, and that ugly thing sprang out, aimed right at my defenseless body.Â
Just as that repulsive touch was about to destroy me-Â
BANG-!Â
The main door to the restroom was smashed open with terrifying force, a thunderous noise as if the entire wall were collapsing.Â
