I Got Hot, He Got Desperate Chapter 07
Molly’s POV
“I’m running for Homecoming Queen.”
When I said those words in the student council office, the entire room went silent.
Madison happened to be there submitting her campaign
materials. Hearing me, a vicious smile flashed across her face.
“Oh REALLY?” she said deliberately loud. “Looks like anyone
thinks they can be queen now.”
“Yes,” I looked at her calmly. “At least I don’t need to step on others to get support.”
Students around us started whispering. Madison vs. Molly for queen–this was definitely the biggest drama of the semester.
Madison walked up to me, voice low but eyes full of threat.” Molly Baker, you think having a rich boyfriend means you can do whatever you want? I’ll show you what REALITY looks like.”
“Bring it on.” I stared back fearlessly.
From that moment, the entire campus split into two camps.
The following week, campaigning intensified.
I never expected so much support. Students who’d been bullied
by Madison came forward to campaign for me.
“Molly represents real CHANGE!”
“She’s been through our pain–she’ll understand us!”
“Madison’s just a damn bully! Time for someone new!”
Hearing this support, warmth flooded my heart. I wasn’t alone after all.
Ryan backed me completely. He used Torres family resources to create the perfect campaign strategy, even ordering a custom dress for Homecoming.
“The designer made this specifically for you,” Ryan said mysteriously. “You’ll see.”
But Madison’s counterattack was swift. She started spreading
rumors that I only dared challenge her because I had a rich boyfriend. Her crew spread malicious gossip across campus.
“What the hell are they trying to do?” I couldn’t help asking Ryan.
Ryan’s eyes turned dangerous. “Whatever they’re planning, I
won’t let them succeed.”
But honestly, I was still nervous. That psycho Madison was
capable of anything.
Homecoming night finally arrived.
Standing in front of the mirror in this emerald green dress, I
couldn’t believe it was really me.
The dress was off–shoulder, perfectly showing my collarbone
and shoulder lines. Fitted at the waist to highlight my curves,
the hem a few inches above my knees–sexy but not vulgar. Most stunning was the back design–cut dangerously low, almost to my waist, but decorated with delicate lace. Bold yet elegant.
“Holy SHIT, Molly!” Emma gasped beside me. “Are you trying to kill every guy there?”
My hair was styled in vintage Hollywood waves, falling over one shoulder. Makeup was flawless but not heavy, emphasizing my eyes and lips.
“Ready?” Ryan asked from outside.
When I opened the door, I froze.
Ryan wore a perfectly tailored black tuxedo, broad shoulders, trim waist, every inch radiating lethal masculine charm. But right now, his gaze was completely locked on me, that naked desire making my whole body heat up.
“Jesus Christ, Molly…” His Adam’s apple bobbed. “Are you trying to make me lose control right here?”
I deliberately turned around, letting him see my back design. Hearing his sharp intake of breath, I smiled seductively.
“What? Regretting taking me?”
He slowly approached, fingertips lightly tracing my exposed
back, the electric touch making me shiver.
“Regret?” he whispered in my ear, warm breath teasing my skin.
“I want to pin you against that wall right now…”
My breathing quickened as I turned to face him. Only inches apart, I could feel the pheromones radiating from his body.
“But tonight,” he offered his arm, eyes dangerous and alluring, ”
I want every man to envy me and every woman to envy you.”
I took his arm, deliberately letting my chest brush against it. Feeling his muscles tense, I knew tonight would be different.
“Then let the storm rage harder.”
When we entered the ballroom, the entire space went silent.
Crystal chandeliers cast soft light, an ornately decorated stage at one end. Everyone was dressed formally, but when I appeared, all conversation stopped.
I could feel every pair of eyes on me.
Shock, admiration, jealousy, appreciation.
“Holy crap… is that Molly Baker?”
“She looks like an actual PRINCESS…”
“That’s a student at our school?”
“Ryan’s so damn lucky…”
This feeling… was incredible. I held my head high, walking confidently through the crowd.
In this moment, I truly felt like the center of the universe.
Madison stood nearby in a pink ball gown, looking like a doll. But seeing me, her expression twisted.
Jealousy, rage, resentment… every negative emotion was written on her face.
Seeing her like this, satisfaction surged through me. Serves you right, this is what you deserve.
“Queen voting starts now!” the host announced. “Candidates,
please prepare to take the stage!”
I took a deep breath, ready for the crucial moment.
It was time.
“Now, let’s welcome our first candidate–Madison Pierce!”
Madison walked on stage with her standard pageant smile.
“Hi everyone! I’m Madison Pierce, your campus queen for the past three years. I represent tradition, elegance, and…”
Her speech was polished but empty. I noticed many people below looked bored.
Several were actually YAWNING. Ha, Madison, so much for your charm.
“Next, let’s welcome Molly Baker!”
My turn.
I walked slowly onto the stage, feeling the warmth of the spotlight. Hundreds of eyes watched me, waiting for my performance.
My heart pounded hard, but not from fear–from excitement.
“Hi everyone,” I began, voice clear and confident. “Three months ago, if someone told me I’d be on this stage running for queen, I would’ve thought it was a joke.”
Light laughter rippled through the crowd.
“Yes, I used to be that girl with thick glasses, the invisible girl mocked in the cafeteria.” I continued. “But I learned
something—true beauty isn’t a perfect appearance, it’s the courage to be yourself.”
Applause began.
“I won’t promise you fake perfection, but I’ll work to make everyone feel respected and understood. Because I know what it‘
s like to be ignored and ridiculed.”
The applause grew stronger.
I saw tears in many eyes below, especially students who’d been marginalized like me.
“If you choose me, I’ll prove that—”
Suddenly, the lights flickered, then the big screen lit up.
My heart instantly sank.
