My Blood Fed His First Love Chapter 04

My Blood Fed His First Love Chapter 04

Julian’s POV

I staggered toward every room.

But all traces of Clara’s life in the house had been erased completely.

The Clara who said “as long as I’m with you, I’ll go anywhere“—she had actually fucking left me.

“Evans!” I dialed my assistant and roared, “Use every connection we have! Lock down airports and train stations! I don’t care what it takes–find Clara at any cost! If you can’t bring her back, you’re all fired!”

The doorbell rang, and I grabbed onto it like a drowning man clutching driftwood.

“Clara!”

I practically crawled toward the door, my ankle hitting the coffee table. I didn’t care about the stabbing pain.

She must have regretted it. She must have missed me and come back.

I knew it—she couldn’t leave me.

I yanked the door open, my smile freezing on my face-

“Julian, what happened to you?”

It was Serena.

She saw the documents in my hand, and her eyes instantly lit up.

The next moment, she quickly switched to a concerned expression: “Darling, she left? What about next week’s blood supply? Is that bitch trying to kill me on purpose?”

“Shut up!” I hissed, my voice raspy as if scraped by sandpaper.

Serena stepped back, shock flashing across her face: ” You… you’re yelling at me? Over that blood bag?”

Blood bag.

For five years, Serena and I had called Clara that.

But now, those two words felt like knives stabbing straight into my heart.

“Get away.” I pushed her aside.

Serena was startled, but quickly put on that wounded expression: “Julian, what’s wrong with you? Have you fallen in love with that blood bag? Don’t forget–you‘ re the one who kept her as my blood bank! You!”

Yes. Me.

I always thought Clara was a lucky woman–married to me, living a life most people couldn’t dream of in

several lifetimes. All she had to do was donate some blood regularly. It was a fair exchange.

But why did Serena’s words now feel like they were cutting into my flesh?

I grabbed my car keys and rushed into the rainy night.

Serena was screaming something behind me. I didn’t hear a single word.

For three days and three nights, I searched every place Clara might have gone.

The park where we had our first date. The art museum she once said she wanted to visit.

Every place was empty.

On the third night, I found myself walking into that old–fashioned dessert shop we used to frequent when we were dating.

The owner caught sight of me and greeted me with genuine warmth: “Dr. Thorne! It’s been ages! Where is your wife?”

I froze.

“Last time she came to buy cake, she was smiling and saying that marrying you was the happiest thing in her life,” the owner said while wiping the table. “You two must be living so happily. Doctor, you’re truly

blessed to have married such a wonderful wife.”

The happiest thing in her life.

I stood in the shop, drowning in bitter irony.

To outsiders, we were the “loving couple.” In reality, it was my one–sided bloodsucking and deception.

I was swallowed by an immense emptiness, realizing for the first time that Clara–the one whose eyes were

full of me–might truly be gone forever.

By the time I returned to the villa, dawn was breaking.

In the bedroom, I found Clara’s leftover journal in the drawer.

“Today I secretly browsed baby cribs online. The pink and blue styles are absolutely adorable. Julian mentioned he’d love a warm yellow one for our future little one, so I’ve set my heart on warm yellow already.

“The doctor told me eating more spinach helps boost iron intake for anyone planning to have a baby. I’ve never liked spinach, but I’m willing to force myself to eat it, all for the child we’re hoping to welcome together.”

“Last night I dreamed about our child. He looked just like Julian. I rubbed my belly and talked to the baby, telling him how amazing and handsome his daddy is..

Every word was like a knife, carving into my heart piece by piece.

She envisioned our future with hope, while I found myself at a private clinic in Switzerland, signing

documents and strategizing how to harvest our unborn child’s cord blood, bone marrow, and even organ tissue.

I smashed the vase. Glass shards pierced my palm, blood gushing out instantly. I stared at the blood and suddenly started laughing.

Laughing until tears streamed down my face.

I’m not even fucking human.

The phone rang.

It was my assistant.

My hand trembled as I answered.

“We found a lead on your wife’s whereabouts.”
