He Defended Her, He Said I Deserved It Chapter 01

He Defended Her, He Said I Deserved It Chapter 01

My husband’s protégé pupil hired someone to assault me.

My husband, Ethan Blackwood, has never lost a case in six years as a lawyer.

Yet he spent the entire night organizing nearly a hundred

pages of trial materials just to prove his protégé innocent

I stood outside his office for six straight hours before I finally spoke.

My voice was hoarse.

“Why?”

He did’t even look up.

His tone was cold and professional.

Chloe only hired that guy to pretend to be her brother and

scare you because you accused her of sleeping with me.”

“Everything that happened afterward was his own decision.

None of it had anything to do with her.”

I shook my head in disbelief.

Then I stormed into the office, intending to tear the documents on his desk to shreds.

Ethan caught my wrist.

“Enough, Avery.”

His eyes met mine.

“If you insist on deciding who is right and who is wrong.”

“Then maybe you should start with the fact that you rushed

but that night without even putting on a bra.”

The words hit me.

I slapped him across the face.

“Are you even human, Ethan?”

My whole body shook.

I looked at the man before me, as if seeing right through him for the first time.

“Victim blaming is the worst thing you can do in a sexual assault case.”

You’re throwing away your professional ethics just to protect your protégé?”

Ethan’s hesd was turned turned to the side by my punch.

When he looked back, the last trace of patience was gone.

What right do you have to lecture me, Avery?”

His brows were drawn tight.

You’ve completely lost control.”

“You can’t blame others just because you’re hurt and crying.”

“If you insist Chloe planned everything, then bring me evidence.”

I stared at him.

The tears stopped.

Evidence.

That night was a nightmare; every time I close my eyes, the nightmare resurfaces.

I remembered every detail.

I knew exactly what Chloe had done.

If she hadn’t called me crying and threatened suicide to prove her innocence,

I would never have rushed to the rooftop in my pajamas.

If she had not told me she had already climbed over the

railing, I would never have run there terrified that I would be too late.

Then a pair of filthy hands covered my mouth and dragged

me into the darkness.

1 screamed Chloe’s name until my voice went raw.

She never answered.

From the beginning, that man had one purpose.

He wanted to destroy me.

I did’t understand why Chloe hated me enough to do this.

But watching Ethan stand against me for her made

everything inside me go cold.

“Since you need evidence for everything, Ethan,” I said with a

bitter smile, “then give me evidence that proves I’m lying

“If Chloe wasn’t…”

He cut me off.

“I am her evidence.”

I froze.

What do you mean?”

He looked at me calmly.

“Chloe was with me the entire night.”

“Is that enough?”

I stared at him.

My mind went blank.

All the strength drained out of me,

I looked at his calm, unconcerned expression.

Suddenly, arguing felt pointless.

“Fine.”

“I understand.”

I quietly left his office and closed the door.

Then I took out my phone.

I contacted my divorce attorney.
