Alderwick City.
Evelyn held onto Adrian’s arm, smiling brightly.
She looked more confident than she had ever been before.
A man approached them with a flattering smile.
“You must be Mr. Whitmore’s wife, Ms. Mercer.”
Years ago, when my company was on the verge of collapse, it
was your decision that convinced Whitmore Corporation to
work with us.”

The man raised his glass.

Evelyn froze for a moment.

Watching Evelyn smile proudly, Adrian felt an inexplicable

He never spoke about everything Vivian had done for him,

The smile on Evelyn’s face slowly disappeared.
