He Erased My Dream School For Her, I Alraedy Had A Better One Chapter 04

I stopped wasting my time on either of them and went back to packing

The calmer I looked, the more irritated Grant became

He strode over, grabbed my suitcase, and dumped everything

inside onto the floor

Nora and I don’t even start at Summit Tech for another

month. Why are you packing now?”

And there’s no point packing all this stuff. It’ll only distract

you from getting ready to reapply.”

Then his tone shifted. Why not just give it to Nora? She can

use it when she starts at Summit Tech.”

Nora couldn’t quite hide the delight in her eyes

Without changing expression, I gathered everything up

stuffed it back into the suitcase, and carried it outside

Then I shoved the entire suitcase into the building’s trash bin

Grant stared at me in disbelief. What are you doing?”

I gave a small laugh. You said it was all useless, didn’t you

So I threw it away.”

Grant finally lost his temper.

I came all the way over because I wanted to take you back to

the mountain chapel tomorrow to leave a thankyou prayer

After acting like this, why would I even bother taking you?”

I stared at the face that had once been so familiar and now

felt like it belonged to a stranger

Drop the act. You went behind my back and changed the

future I had prayed for. What exactly am I supposed to give thanks for?”

Grant snapped, Fine! Then I’ll take Nora. Don’t regret it later!”

I went straight back inside, shut the door, and changed the

jaccess code

My phone buzzed

It was a voice message from Mom, who was in England

Mom: [You and Grant should come to London for your

graduation trip. Make sure you book roundtrip tickets.

I typed back immediately

Me: [Mom, I already booked mine. But it’s just me.

Me: [And I don’t need a return ticket. I’ve made up my mind

I’m going to Imperial College London, where you and Dad

went to school.

thought back to when Mom had written a personal letter of

support for my Imperial application

At the time, I had been so determined to choose Summit

Tech that I turned her down again and again

Luckily, Mom had insisted on keeping that door open for me

Now, everything seemed to have fallen into place exactly

when I needed it to

I didn’t see Grant again

Everything I heard about him came through our class group

chat or Instagram

He took Nora back to the mountain chapel to leave

thankyou prayer

They wrote prayer cards together and pinned them side by

side at the top of the chapel’s prayer wall

That was something he had once promised to do with me

That night, Grant pinned a photo of himself and Nora at the

mountain chapel to the top of his Instagram profile

[The best is still ahead!

Comments flooded in almost instantly

[They look so good together.

[Of course two top students would make the perfect match.

[Summit Tech’s golden duo!

I blocked Grant everywhere

The day I flew to London happened to be our senior awards

assembly

I had one last surprise in store for Grant

That morning, I posted on Instagram

The classmate sitting beside Grant suddenly exclaimed

Clementine’s going to London?”

Grant immediately tried to open my Instagram profile, but

he couldn’t access it from his account

His brows drew together

He snatched the classmate’s phone and looked at my post

The photo showed a plane ticket to London

We were at each other’s throats yesterday. I figured she’d

keep this up for at least a week, but it only took one night

before she started trying to get my attention again

The students around him laughed

She really thinks the world revolves around her. Doesn’t she

know our resident genius is busy today? He doesn’t have time

for her drama.”

At the front of the auditorium, the principal announced that

it was time for the student chosen to represent the

graduating class to give the address

Grant stood and headed toward the podium

He even glanced back over his shoulder with a teasing smile

Since she went to all this trouble to get my attention, maybe

I’ll think about going over to make up with her after my speech”

Before he could finish, everyone around him suddenly stared

toward the stage, mouths falling open

Confused, Grant followed their gaze

He stopped dead

Then someone blurted out, Isn’t that Clementine? Why is

she the one giving the speech?”
