My Fiance Took My Cousin to Our Wedding Photoshoot. Ok, I Canceled the Wedding Chapter 02
My phone kept buzzing that afternoon.
Delilah was posting a ton of photos in our family group chat.
All of them were intimate shots of her in a white wedding dress, posing with Nathaniel.
[Vivian, Nathaniel was originally going to take wedding photos with you in Mexico, but since you
didn’t come, and we’d brought the dress along, it would’ve been a waste not to use it.
So I put it on and took a few shots.
Do I look good?]
The whole group was flooded with compliments.
Nathaniel even replied: [Beautiful.
Fits you perfectly.]
Beautiful.
Fits you perfectly.
Nathaniel seemed to have forgotten. This was the dress he’d custom–made for me.
He’d designed it himself when he was just twenty years old.
Back then, he held my hand and swore with conviction.
“Vivian, when we get married, you’ll wear this dress.
I’m going to make you a one–of–a–kind wedding gown and make you the happiest bride in the world.”
But now, that dress was on Delilah.
And he said it looked beautiful.
That it fit her perfectly.
Delilah tagged me again.
[Vivian, you don’t mind, do you?]
What was I supposed to say to that?
Did I mind?
I hadn’t always just rolled over.
Two years ago, Delilah had set her sights on the cat Nathaniel gave me and insisted I give it to her.
I refused flat–out, but everyone took Delilah’s side,
accusing me of being petty and making a mountain out of a molehill.
Even Nathaniel tried to talk me into it.
“It’s just a cat, you can always get another one.
Delilah’s an orphan, she’s pitiful. Can’t you as her older sister just be a little more understanding?”
Yes, as the older sister, I should be more understanding.
So I might as well give her my husband too.
“Vivian, I managed to get the tickets.
In three days, I’ll go with you to watch Mbappé’s match.
I swear, I won’t be late.”
Hanging up the phone, I let out a long breath.
Nathaniel wouldn’t go abroad with me.
That’s fine.
Someone else would.
That afternoon, I got home and Nathaniel was still at my place.
The moment I walked in, he came toward me carrying two dessert boxes.
“Vivian, Delilah already picked out the wedding sweets for us.
This one’s a custom mini cake. I’ve tasted it, and it’s really good.”
With that, he popped a piece of the sweet pastry into my mouth.
“So?
How is it?”
The sugary flavor melted on my tongue, with a faint hint of crab.
Halfway through swallowing, something felt off, and I
spit it out immediately.
Nathaniel froze.
“You don’t like it?”
“Does this have crab in it?”
“What about crab?” he asked, confused.
I’m allergic to crab.
One bite and I’d break out in hives all over.
In severe cases, I could even go into shock.
Had he forgotten even that?
Delilah suddenly gasped in mock realization, her voice choked with guilt.
“I’m so sorry, Vivian, I totally forgot you’re allergic to crab!
It’s all my fault, I was so careless.”
Nathaniel paused, finally remembering.
But instead of comforting me, he turned to reassure Delilah.
“Come on, Delilah, it’s not your fault.”
Then, turning to me, he said sternly.
“Vivian, these desserts are for the guests.
As long as you don’t eat them, it’s fine.
Delilah’s been working on customizing these since last
month. Don’t let her efforts go to waste.”
“Mm.”
I didn’t bother arguing and just went upstairs.
Not long after, Nathaniel came into my room.
“Vivian, I need to talk to you about something,” he said hesitantly.
“Delilah has a concert to go to in a few days, and it just
happens to fall on the same day as our wedding.”
“The wedding’s off,” I cut him off.
“No, that’s not what I mean.”
Nathaniel didn’t catch my meaning and kept explaining.
“Our wedding doesn’t start until after the concert begins.
I’ll drop Delilah off at the venue and come right back.”
I shouldn’t have had any expectations left, but I still asked him.
“Nathaniel, is our wedding really less important than a concert?”
“This is the biggest pop star in the world!
I went through hell to get these tickets, so of course it’s important,” he said, matter–of–factly.
“Oh,” I said flatly.
“Nathaniel, let’s break up.”
